I was clearly and unmistakably talking about a subpoena, ISSUED BY A JUDGE, from a duly constituted, COURT OF LAW.
The so-called "Jan 6 Commission" bears ZERO similarity to that matter.
In point of fact there is considerable, well founded and still unsettled legal opinion that the partisan selected "Jan 6 Commission" has NO Constitutional, Congressional or legal authority to do ANYTHING, much less issue enforceable subpoenas.
Considering the wildly Leftist political partisan nature of the "Jan 6 Commission" and it's extremely dubious legal authority, those people who have chosen to not appear before that particular kangaroo court have, in my opinion, chosen wisely....
.....even WITHOUT anything to hide.

It's only a "partisan inquisition" because the Republican leadership in the persons of Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy blocked previous effort(s) to have a Jan. 6 panel or commission that would have been numerically equal in terms of Democratic and Republican representatives, or Democratic and Republican-selected panel members. Even after other Congressional Republicans, with the prior blessing of the Republican leadership in Congress, had agreed on such a format. A format where any subpoena would have required at least one Republican member, along with all the Democratic members, to vote their approval of it.

Congressional Republican leadership ultimately refused to participate because of Leftist's continual changing of the ground rules even after a supposed agreement had been reached.
There was NEVER going to be equal party representation of the members.
Leftists also refused to agree to releasing a committee report by the end of 2021 as per prior agreement.... (can you say 2022 midterms?)
Refusal by the House Republicans to participate DID NOT somehow magically imbue Nancy's partisan anger-fest with Constitutional or legal powers that it cannot have.
Her unilateral appointment of TWO willing and volunteering "R" dupes, like ousted Republican chair, Little Lizzy Cheney who is still mad at Trump because he dissed her daddy and that feckless and soon to be out of office, Kinzinger, likewise DOES NOT magically grant her little 9 member Leftist "star chamber" with any power that would be afforded to a legal and proper Congressional investigative committee.
