WTB Getrag 282 with Opel/Sunbird 2.0T bellhousing (Page 1/1) rustbelt FEB 04, 03:04 AM Looking for a Getrag 5 speed from a 87-91 Sunbird 2.0T for my swap into a Fiero. Will buy case halves as well. My udnerstanding is there were a few of these conversions done from a dealer when they were new, and if anyone has any new information or pictures that haven't been posted here yet, I am interested. It was an Opel-based engine. I've seen a few way out west for sale, but haven't been able to get my hands on one. There are plenty of Isuzu 5 speeds with the Opel bellhousing aroud, but I don't think they are strong enough and gear ratios are different. cam-a-lot FEB 07, 06:43 AM I have been in a Fiero many years ago with that engine/trans swap. It was cool But finding one will be very tough. May make more sense to look at an Ecotec swap , as you will get far more power, newer technology, and more readily avaailable parts/transmissions?
