88 Coupe gets a 3.4 (Page 11/57)

I was able to get a few things done this morning. Upper intake is ready to go back on the engine now. I need to paint it first. I am thinking Cast Aluminum, silver, like the rest of it. Black or red 'FIERO' engraved area.

Painted, with a coat of clear. All the red was removed with a wire brush in a die grinder. About a one hour job.

Nice job! I did mine in 2008. I did the 4t60 for a cost of around $1,200 in parts. $100 to buy a core, $800 for the rebuild, $90 for each rebuilt axle and around $40 for all the brackets and governor cap from a pick and pull and fluid. Check out my signature it has all the part numbers and what cars to find the parts from. Keep up the good work!

I had read your 4T60 thread back when you did it. I asked if you ever got the transmission to work correctly. That 90's shirt was hard to forget.

I got it straightened out finally. The shop in Vegas that did my rebuild on the tranny forgot to put an Oring in down deep in it so it couldn't build up pressure to shift into third. I had a friend of mine go back through it here in Illinois, he got it straight and he added a shift kit, I get 24.6 MPG and 100 MPH is 2900 RPM. I have been driving it daily in in the summers putting on at least 100 miles a day while driving it into Chicago. Its a nice highway cruiser now.

Edit: I wasnt the one wearing the shirt.

I was able to get some of the wiring harness back on the engine and transmission today. I found a thread where a member had photographed and posted to help another member out. I am gonna try to get the harness all laid out and plugged in tomorrow after work. I am glad I hadn't put the upper intake manifold on the engine yet, as some of it would have been in the way for laying down the harness.
