Hi all, I have ripped the front end of my 86 all apart. I was able to get the control arm bushing's out , pain in the butt but i won. My issue is i have ordered a set or replacements (front lower ones) they are a .100 larger then the hole on the control arm. I tried thinking they may squish in but i am just starting to bend the control arm. so ordered a different set (Movitech and TRW) again same issue. If anyone has replaced theirs can you tell me what you used? as it sits the metal sleeve on the bushing is larger then the opening Thank you for any help Russ

Yes that’s correct My control arms cleaned out measure 1.550 All The bushings I’ve bought measure 1.650 I’m frustrated because there is zero chance this could press in This is the second set I’ve bought and researcher other brands they seem to be all around the 1.60 OD

Have you measured both the inner and outer holes on each leg of the control arm?

Replaced all my 85 GT bushings years ago , cold press out/in. Bought all bushings Rock Auto. Have you looked there? Seems they were GM common, but not sure.

Hi Guys thanks for the responses, I was tier up this weekend. For the front the Rock auto only has the Delphi listed and the description lists is as 1.60 measurement As per the earlier question the inner diameter is actually a bit bigger by about .050 I do remember them being pressed from the outside in. At this point i would be happy to have ones that i could fit in. When you replaced yours last year any idea on the brand you used?
Thanks guys I will sort this out
