3 years ago my factory R-12 a/c compressor locked up so I converted the system to R-134A. I changed everything in the system. I used an AC Delco H6 rebuild compressor from Rock Auto. It developed a leak at the seam of the compressor so I assumed it was defective and replaced it with another Ac Delco H6 under warranty. I installed this compressor with the engine out of the car and discovered the brackets put the compressor in a bind as it would not rotate easily to adjust the belt. I shimmed the brackets so it would swivel freely to adjust the belt. I did not have any leakage issues with the compressor I had to pull the belt to work on the water pump after the engine was back in the car. I took pictures and thought I shimmed it the same. I now have a leak on the compressor body at a seam. After research I discovered this is a common problem and the install the compressor with the bracket bolts loose to the engine block and tighten the bolts to the block last. I have read there are no dowel pins the the H6 and probably not in HR 6 compressors Genuine GM compressors are no longer available on rock auto so I was going to order a brand new Four Seasons HR6 compressor. I will have the engine out while doing the install (correcting an oil leak issue on the rear of the newly rebuilt engine) Does anyone know if the have dowel pins in the body of the compressor? Do I need to to do anything special to install this compressor so I don’t twist it and have it leak like the last two compressors? I had read where Sanden might make a compressor called SD7H15 Style that would work but could not find any real information on this as a replacement. Suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated.

You can see a teardown of the original DA6/HR6 design here, no dowel pins, just long bolts
I'd stick with the stock replacement. The Four Seasons new compressor for the car would be part number 58255 with the 4.9" Diameter V-belt pulley, or 58251 with the 5.7" diameter pulley. You can use either if you find one on sale, just change the belt size.
