Ok so here I am restoring my fastback tail lights a can of satin black spray paint a clear decal made to cover over the Pontiac lettering for ten bucks and a roll of painters tape can go a long way now my concern is what does everyone do to the silver I saw a picture that someone sprayed that as well I think with either a gloss aluminum or they used a gloss silver and it really made it shine need answers on this asap as I would love to have this finished tomorrow hard is done as both lenses are off already 😁😁😁😁

When I did my tail lights, I installed the Embrace sequential LED kit for a more modern look, however the kit didn't include anything to replace the reverse lights to LED. I applied a few coats of "chrome" spray paint to the reflector piece after washing the dirt out of it... I only did it because the reflective surface wasn't in the best of shape. It improved the light output a bit, so I would say it was worth the few bucks in spray paint. Best way to improve light output however would be to switch to an LED bulb. The bulb you would need to find in an LED is the same as a conventional incandescent bulb; 1156. Easy to find them online.

Thanks!!! The link to the Embrace LED kit is http://www.embraceracing.co...hts.php?e=0,3,4#0... They are a bit expensive and require a lot of soldering to assemble, but the work is absolutely worth it as you can see! If I recall correctly someone on the forum assembles these kits, forgot who though. The reverse lights I installed are just a generic pair of 1156 LED bulbs that I bought from Amazon... Just searched 1156 led bulb in the search and bought the best reviewed ones there at the time.

How did you make the clear decal? Is that something you can share with folks?
