I was wondering about the engine compartment "shade" shown as an available option on the 1984 Fiero. I have actually never seen one of these in the wild.
Do these actually exist? Anyone have one?

I've never seen one, NOR have I ever heard of someone who had one.

Of course, it should not be a surprise that I have WAY to much time on my hands...
I was decoding the RPO sticker on my 1984 Indy. It appears that the only options that I don't have are the automatic transmission (a plus), the rear-window defroster (it only gets driven in nice weather), and the engine shade cover (that no one has ever seen).
Interestingly, my Indy does not have the white-letter tires, which I thought was just because the previous owner did not purchase the more expensive white-letter tires. In fact, the car has the QPU code, which is for P215/60R14 blackwall, steel-belted (84-87).
I have to say, the white-letter tires really scream 80s, but I do prefer the plain blackball tires...
What does everybody think? It will get the door decals in the spring.

Needs the white-lettered tires. Just kidding... although personally I do like way white-lettered tires look when the wheels are rotating slowly.
