| Compatible AC condensers? (Page 1/1) |

I'm sure many have heard this before.. I just bought my fiero and the previous owner removed the AC system. So I'm looking at rebuilding it and I'm far from an expert in all things AC. I have the original compressor (or if need be, I can buy a new one.. that isnt an issue), but the condenser was removed, so I'll need to get a new one. I'd prefer to buy a new one as opposed to trying to locate an original Fiero condenser. So My question is this? what would a good analog be? there are universal condensers available on Amazon.. could I retrofit one of these to work? I know many parts from newer pontiacs are compatible, would any of these work?
Also I know the physical size and location of the connections is probably the biggest kicker here.. what size is the original?

Double check with FF before purchasing, business was up for sale and home page still says it is.

Their condenser would be a direct match and is probably the way I SHOULD go, but 235$ is a lot more than the ones on amazon that are less than $100. So.. my question is the same, is it possible to fit one of these into a fiero? if so, what issues would i be looking at?

Assuming you can shoehorn it into the available space, which is only a matter of checking sizes, you'll probably need to add/remove/make some new mounting brackets.
The main issue I can see is having to make up (or get made up) lines to connect the original fiero ac coindenser connectors to whatever size and wherever they are on the new condenser. Also hope the placement of the connectors on the new condenser is not blocked by anything on the car making connection difficult or worse. By the time you've finished, you could be in the same ball park as that $235 condenser.
But good luck to you if you decide to go that route.

Not having to worry about screwing around spending maybe hours trying to make something else work would be worth the extra $100 to me.
