Hey Guys, need to do inner tie rods on the '88 GT for alignment shop. Any secret tricks or just get the special tool and straightforward? Tried to just muscle it off with regular wrenches but no luck. Are the originals staked at the threaded lip? My arms are sore now. Outers are fine but the inners are original I guess. Alignment shop wouldn't do it. Thanks to all for tips or suggestions as always....Fred W

They should be staked, the special tool is special for a reason. 😊 It makes the job much easier.[This message has been edited by olejoedad (edited 05-23-2019).]

Thanks Olejoedad, I think a local Partsource here has a tool loan program so I will try to get it today. 1- 7/16" is the size I believe?

Hey Larry, thanks for the links. All info is good! Got the loaner tool and binga-bonga in 10 minutes both were out! New Ones are in now and the steering feels nice and tight. Now, proper alignment and I am golden! I knew you guys would help me out and thank you to all!...Fred W
