The Turbo 3500 F23 swap (Page 80/80)

I 3d printed the latest intake flange design, it had several clearance issues, but nothing that couldn't have been solved in 10 minutes with a die grinder if it was metal.

This is going on the printer sometime this weekend maybe? there are some obvious changes, rounding of the corners, and the coolant outlet design are the biggest changes. on the other side, I made some cutouts for nubs on the gasket, and improved pushrod clearance.

overall, I'm pleased with how things are going, but I do have some changes to make, the ports transition from the oblong shape GM made them, to a ~38mm circle. I think 38mm might be slightly too big, it's definitely a larger cross section than the port opening on the head, and that close to the port I think the cross section should be relatively unchanging. I'm unsure where I want to go past here, ITB's sound cool, but the engine is already turbocharged, to ITB's could be overcomplicating things the nice part, is that once the basic flange is laid out, and in metal, I should be able to 3d print several iterations of the runners and optimize them.

I invited Lou Dias to trash me in my own thread, he refused. sorry. if he trashes your thread going after me. I tried.
