Project 2 GTs 1 Spot (Page 8/9)

Got a new laptop so i was able to put together this video of me moving the cradle and getting it bolted up.

Im thinking my next step is to clean up the yard a bit. I have that front suspension and rear cradle from the wife's 85 right there in the middle. I need to pull those down to basic parts. Then i can measure and see if i have enough room to do a Fiero shell game to get the "other GT" and the "original GT to swap places.
If i do have the room ill have to weigh if its worth the effort. If i can swap them i can get the other gt out on the road and registered. However im nowhere near done with it. I have a wishlist going.

End Goal Wish-List (in no particular order)
Relocate battery to front.
Swap AC components (i have the compressor and engine bay harness done. I need to swap the front climate control stuff, install AC lines and Condenser. Probably should be done when i am swapping the dash.)
Swap Dash
Swap power door locks
Swap power Mirrors
Really clean the interior up
New windshield
Poly suspension
Front brakes and rubber lines
Check/replace ball joints
Replace shocks/struts

This doesn't include the running flushes or changing oil i want to do.

However a lot of this requires parts out of the original GT if i don't just buckle down and work on this list ill have to store parts and hope they don't get ruined or parts lost or forget how it goes. I don't need it on the road immediately, what i do need is the original GT done with so i can have that spot back. After all this is 2GTs 1 spot. That original GT is in the spot of another vehicle that has caused my Fiero to get kicked elsewhere.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ First world problems.

So i finally got out and bled the clutch and rear brakes. I then put the wheels on and put it on the ground. I was able to start it and drive it forward about 4 ft under its own power.

I feel like mechanically i could drive it and it would be fairly sound. Right now its blocked in by the original GT so i must take care of that.

I swapped wheels today. It was part of shuffling the yard. I really want the black basket wheels on the GT. I removed the wheels that came with it and put them on the wife's 85 SE.

The tires on the wifes SE were in poor shape. They stopped holding air so i wanted a good /better set of tires on it

With her car moved i was able to get my GT out and take it for a quick spin.
Unfortunately i forgot to hookup the dog bone. So the engine had a lot of movement.
Also forgot to tie down the battery it shifted in flight but lucky no damage.
I had not bolted the seat down.
Speedo is not working and temp guage has spun around.

This is the first time driving a GT except off the trailer so i was stoked!

I knew the guy who owned the white no AC GT at one point. I actually gave him the American Racing wheels that were on it. Nice to see it up and running again.

Yeah I think his username on here was Crasian. Good guy I hope he is doing ok. I need to get him his license plate frame back. I'll be putting the American Racing wheels back on it soon to sell the car. My wife much rather have the staggered 88 wheels on her car. Ill have to check and see if there is any pulling on the front was told one of the fronts had a bad belt.

Staying busy. Nice work.

So since its still my car and im still building it I guess ill keep posting build updates here.
I replaced the fan switch and added a thermostat and now the cooling system is working as expected. ]
Ive pulled the dash so I can get the windshield out easier.

I removed the windshield so I could replace it with a good spare I had on the shelf. Im pretty sure its been replaced before because the trim was more glued into the slot than the factory ones I have dealt with. The windshield reveal molding was totally trashed and i think my spare I used on the wifes car so Im delayed while i order some.

In the meantime I will get the opening nice and clean and work on cleaning up the inside and putting the inside back together as I do not need it apart to Install the new windshield.

Its been hot as heck the last week so my progress has not been good.

Got the windshield in and the front back together.

The interior is more or less back together minus seats. I can't put the cigarette lighter back together until after smog as they will have to check the timing.

After the windshield drys i can do the wheel swap and toss on the cat.

Alright im photobombing the hack out of this.

I got under the car and put in the cat and snapped a under car shot.

I got the interior back together so wanted to show it off a little
