- Achieve this goal of 325HP + (without having to Turbo or Change Pistons)
Pulley down, North star TB, LQ4 MAF, 1.9 rockers (if you don't want to cam) of an XP Cam and supporting mods for cam, and Full size intercooler
- Change the pulleys to 3.4?
- Which Spec Clutch Series should I go with (Series 3 Plus or 4 Plus) with later on long term goal of over 400HP? Spec 3+ is good
- Where can I purchase RELIABLE Engine/Transmission Mounts, Flywheel (Cast)?
Fierorog for mounts and flywheel
- Also, I understand I need to get a Series II ECU (OBD II) for this as Series III ECU won't work effeciently??? You will need a 97-03 wiring harness and PCM. I have a brand new FieroRog flywheel cut for a supercharged bottom end, a full size intercooler, Getrag F23 and I can possibly set you up with a PCM. I am in Ottawa Ontario, maybe you're close?

Just a tip from my experience. Do not use the 3.4" pulley with the Gen V supercharger (used on the 3800SC series III engine) without extra supporting mods. Its a higher efficiency unit and you will get KR's without also adding an intercooler. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. Hi Dennis, thanks. I found out that 3.5" or 3.6" would work in my scenario since I'm staying pretty much stock for now.
Just gonna enjoy the car for now. Gonna do some exhaust work, pulley, intake. It might or might not take me near 300HP.
Do you know if Series 2 PCM can be programmed to be used with Series 3 harness?
Any other tips?[This message has been edited by 87PF-GT (edited 07-27-2021).]

Good idea staying with those size pulleys for now. I preferred to run using series II operation - cable operated TB, with a modified 2003 GTP harness and PCM. If you go cable, the 2003 PCM is the only one that you can use to shift the 04-07 4T65eHD transmissions. If you run stick the choices are much wider so any of the 95-03 PCMs will work. For ease of operation just use the TB and MAF that goes with the model year and PCM for that year. With a 3" exhaust and some minor mods, you should get more power but pickup maybe 10HP. I would not try to use a series III drive by wire harness and the later 04-07 PCM's unless you are going with drive by wire. IMO the extra work is just not worth the return but it hss been done before. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite. Thanks Dennis for the suggestions. I'll get a Series 2 PCM and get the needed connectors to make my Series 3 Harness into a series II.
By any chance would anyone know who can make a custom rear diffuser for Fiero's?
Thanks again[This message has been edited by 87PF-GT (edited 07-30-2021).]

See my signature for my setup.
I was able to squeeze out 300whp on ZZP's dyno and tune. For me to get to your 325whp number, I would either need to run an intercooler and pulley down or rune E85 and pulley down. 325 is achievable but remember if running a 282 5spd getrag, that is your weak point. I have been running the stock 282 5spd for 5 years now with no issues, but I also don't do burnouts and clutch drops.

That's an excellent number as dynos show wheel HP not crank HP. GM rates their engines as crankshaft horsepower. You are probably making 360 HP at the crank. ------------------ " THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, P-log Manifold, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, Champion Radiator, S10 Brake Booster, HP Tuners VCM Suite.
