That's not what I asked.

Kaiden, have all the spark plugs at least been removed and inspected?

A lot can be determined by inspecting the spark plugs in regards to diagnosing engine issues.

My dad and I had the motor running with the IAC removed. My Dad told me the pintle needle would stay pushed in while I was switching gears. Does what I’m saying make sense? ------------------ Kaiden Meade

Well we got it working for only a few hours.... after driving it several miles it went back to the same exact problems it was having before. I do not understand this car and it’s a little frustrating just need some feedback! ------------------ Kaiden Meade

Instead of guessing what the problem is, you might try reading section 6E3 of the factory service manual. If you don't have a service manual there are several places where you can get a PDF for free. Not only will it give you the background on the operations involved but also the diagnostic and service procedures needed to address your issue.

When reaching out for help with the Forum it's good practice to include some more details like year of car, type of engine and trans (automatic in your case I believe), miles on the car, and how well the car was running before the problem arose. Apparently you bought this after it sat for 10 years and it ran well during testing and when you got it home? Then after some time driving the problem arose? An example from my own experience on two Fieros that sat was hydraulics that worked fine for a few days then started leaking. Rubber parts that sit without use can take a set and go bad. I don't have a clue what your technical problem is, sorry to say, but just encouraging you to take a step back and share some more details. These cars can be very reliable when put into proper shape and taken care of.

One more thing ... since no one has changed the spark plugs in at least ten years you should get out your compressed air to blow out the debris from around the spark plugs, then give them a shot of penetrating oil once a day for a few days. Many folks have said when you go to remove them try to Tighten Slightly first to break the rust and then loosen. You don't want to break off one of those spark plugs against the firewall. If you have larger hands it can be helpful to remove the deck lid so you can more easily reach down under the exhaust manifold.
Good luck!
