Reminds me of the car that bubbajoexxx originally built, although Bubba was not trying to mimic a Firebird.

The concept is simple, find a 3rd gen TA, then, proceed to make a Fiero, though difficult, many naysayers abound.

Giorgetto Giugiaro of Italdesign's Maserati Merak bodywork, beautiful.
It is then totally natural to transplant an aluminum V6TT or V8TC into the space formerly occupied by uninspiring iron lumps.
Had the corporate board made the decision to insert an actual sportscar engine, their sales would certainly have taken a greater part of the market share, tripled.
An aluminum canted 3-valve cylinder head for the duke block, a turbo intercooled improvement good for just under 200 hp, a reasonable compromise.
The weakness of the bottom end's conrods and main caps, when addressed with stronger smallblock production pieces, would still, to this day make for a decent power source.
Hindsight for a Fiero with roadrace and rallye ambition, hillclimbs and scca type class, stocks and modified, you know, sportscar.
