Question for everyone with High Horsepower (300hp+) engine swapped Fieros using the stock 88 suspension?
Have you guys/gals had any issues using the stock 88 suspension with high horsepower builds like the ls4, 3800sc or other 300hp+ engines?
Would it be better/wise to upgrade the stock rear links? If yes, does anyone have any suggestions or links to related posts? I already plan to run Polyurethane all around the chassis.
Many thanks Chris

Not exactly an answer to your question, but I've got a 4.9 that was installed by the Fiero Factory. It's not exactly a high power engine, but it is a torque monster. Every install they did got poly bushings in the entire rear suspension. I have found that to be quite sufficient (although I did add Fieroguru's camber correction kit, which is really beneficial for any 88.) I've seen a bunch of higher powered swaps. Other than coil overs, most of them have not had much else done.

Keep rubber bushings in the trailing link.

This. I forgot about that. When I rebuilt my other 88's suspension, the trailing links stayed rubber. I have rubber for the "first" car. Just need the time to install it.

Mine is mostly stock with a mid built small block Chevy. I just beefed up the springs. 400lb coil overs in back, 520 in front. Lowered it, which required elongating the front upper arm bolt holes to get the right camber and caster. I replaced all bushings with rubber replacements. Even with the stiffer springs, having the rubber bushings gives it a smoother ride than my 86 which has poly. Also used Rodney's Zero lash end links. I'm satisfied with the handling. Solid at speed up to 150 (haven't pushed it any faster than that).
Edit to add: Not suspension, but I did do FieroGuru's 13" brake upgrade. I could lock the brakes with ease on the stock brakes with S10 booster, so I was worried that the bigger brakes would be overkill, but they actually give much better control. I can stop faster and find it easier to keep it in the sweet spot and out of a lockup situation. Also, looks amazing behind the 18" wheels.[This message has been edited by liv4God (edited 12-22-2020).]
