In a moment of weakness today, I bought this:
OK, it wasn't really a weak moment, I'd been casually looking for a while... I owned an 86 GT 5-speed many years ago and the cars have remained on my radar since that car sold in the early-2000s. This 88 5-speed popped up locally and a friend of mine actually got to test drive it first, and he came back with a glowing review of the car but ultimately he passed on it. He wasn't really serious, he just wanted to try one I think. I drove it Thursday evening and knew it was a good one. After a couple of sleeps, I decided to pull the trigger on it this morning. By mid-afternoon today, it was mine.

Any idea on the history of this car? Has it been on the Island for awhile and/or has it spent time on the Lower Mainland?

The original owner was in Vancouver apparently but that's just second-hand information from the gent I bought it off of. Every bill in the history folder that came with the car has a Victoria address and some go back into the 90s.

Took it out for a nice drive last evening. Traffic is generally terrible here but some times you just get lucky...
