Fiero in Magnum PI.... (Page 1/3)
cvxjet APR 03, 12:55 AM
I have been watching all of the (ORIGINAL)Magnum PIs......I am up to Season 7..Episode #6...About a psycho killer taunting Magnum over the phone...Only two really cool things in this episode; #1) Genesis song "Mama" plays throughout the episode, and #2) at the very beginning, the psycho gets out of his car.....Obviously a Fiero GT....Only the driver's side visible for a second or so......

(By the way..How anyone could think they could make this show work WITHOUT Tom Selleck is beyond me...(For those who don't know, they wanted to make the show about a handsome guy who drives a fast car, gets all the women and NEVER makes a mistake- but SELLECK told them "No way!....Have the guy be a regular Joe who makes mistakes" and that is why the show was successful......I didn't have any interest in watching it when it first came out, but was sick one time and sitting on the couch, bored, so I watched an episode- and was hooked!)

GT or SE?

There's a brief shot of the steering wheel as well.

Astronomy says we will find a coded signal from outer space. Then we'll KNOW that life exists there, for coded signals aren't by chance.

Biology says there are coded genetic signals in every cell, but we KNOW that no intelligence created life.

I'm the original owner of a white ' 84 2M4 purchased Dec 10, 1983 from Pontiac. Always garaged, no rust, 4-wheel drifts are fun!

Just going by the wheels.... I'd have to say not a GT. Of course, the wheels could've been swapped.

It is a 85 GT. I saw th3 show when it came out.

I was a Magnum fan from the start. The show owes a lot to the Rockford files. Much was based on that show. Select even was on Rockford several times as Lance White a detective that was perfect.

When Selleck was offered Magnum he said he would not do it unless the part was flawed like a Jim Rockford.

They had tried to have Jim on the show but a pending law suit prevented it.

Just to note Rockford was also based on the western Maverick.

All three are some of my favorite shows.

My favorite on Magnum was Higgins. “Oh My God!” Still makes me laugh. Hard to believe John Hillerman really was from a Texas.

The episode still gives me the creeps on how the bad guy quoted the butcher the baker and the candle stick maker as a clue.

Even after being around Fieros for over 20 years, for whatever reason it never sank in that the factory wheels on an '85 GT look the same as the regular base model 14" wheels... and not like the 15" wheels found on '86-'88 GTs. (Yes, I know the front '88 wheels have a different width/offset. )

Hyper- everything you said is right on....I really Like "The Rockford Files" because James Garner reminds me of my Father....And then I watched another (Magnum) episode....and another Fiero sighting......"Little girl who?" which is possibly Magnum's daughter....A silver base Fiero next to the Ferrari (Parked).....

My Favorite Fiero sighting is "How I met Your Mother" Because it is in a number of episodes....But it just amazes me that people will drive a car and not have ANY idea how to fix ANYTHING on it, so that when it finally "Dies" they have to.....bury it. I have replaced an engine (2.8 to 3.4), a trans (4 spd to 5 spd), both front and rear subframes....the only body parts still stock are the 2 front fenders, just replaced the whole driver's door......I know I am an exception, but come on people...Try to have some mechanical ability (Texting and drinking is fun, but really doesn't earn you any money- or SAVE you any)...

Oh, and Rwdplz.....Yep, you had it way back then.......Sorry...I'm just a rerun......
