That there's funny, don't care who U R............
BTW, ordered a 10K Halo Lift today, seriously considered a 12K but, the extra width it provides was a problem for the other two bays so, I compromised.
The extra 14 inches of width on the 12K makes it easier to exit and enter the vehicle but, it took too much space from the other two sides.

My Dad, 88 years old, has had many lifts. He favored four posters, drive on. Jack plates are available which fit in the center from which you can jack it up, on the lift, where unloaded wheel repairs or suspension repairs can be done.

He used hydraulic but would always put a four by four post under each corner post so it could not fall.

Have used a four-post a few times in the past, I found them limiting the access I had to the vehicle but, that's just an opinion. But, a four-post would have pushed my budget, I'm not related to any Texans.
Both two and four-posts lifts have their strong and weak points. I simply prefer a two-post, hydraulic, of course.

That made me think of this truly sad event in PFF member history.

My least favorite thread. Not just that post, the whole thread. I dread looking at it. I do recognize it's need, and benefits.

I'm late to the party, as usual. I have a 10K Atlas two-post lift. Lifts my Ram 1500 Crew Cab with zero drama.
It cost too much money, but it is what I settled for, since everything "seemed to be" in short supply during Covid.
I didn't mention it before now - or suggest it - as I think it may have been China-sourced, and you didn't want that.

But yeah... before that, I had an A-frame built. I call it "the swingset from hell". I use a Harbor Freight chain hoist, suspended from the crossbeam. It will lift the entire azz end of a Fiero, with the engine/cradle still bolted in.
Cost me several hundred dollars, but I was doing a bunch of Fiero engine/transaxle stuff at the time, and I reasoned (SWMBO agreed) that the price was less than even the co-pay for a trip to the ER.
And this was before the events that took place in the previously mentioned thread.

Steve,

I looked at a bunch of different Two-Post lifts. To be honest, there wasn't much difference in the construction of quality from what I could see. The more expensive lifts were all American built but, they don't say where the steel is produced so, who really knows. So, supposedly the lift I purchased was built in the US but, it's still questionable in my mind. Doesn't matter now, they won't ship until they have our money in their bank. My 10k lift is scheduled for delivery 9 June. Hopefully I'll have that Epoxy Floor Coating done and cured prior to that but as always, I have other irons in the fire.
Thanks for the response.
