They are setting him up for a plea deal so it doesn't become another circus in the media and the courts spending the next 3 years trying to get it off the docket. I also hope that he gets what is coming to him, but I wish they could also hold the media that ran with the story accountable as well.

I saw that this morning too. Chicago police filed 16 felony charges, and several federal charges are coming, including a couple of mail felonies. I heard EACH charge is worth up to 3 years. I hope he gets 40+ years. I dont hear too much from liberals right now...I think their hiding in closets hoping the whole thing goes away. Time to get out that Mueller Report to take the attention off them. BS, BS, Divert...repeat.
Oh no, they won't hide or hesitate on reacting to this. They will spin it to say how the justice system is going hard and heavy (racist style) on a gay back man while white people never see such harsh treatment. "Never let a good crisis go to waste".
I wish they could also hold the media that ran with the story accountable as well.
I would like the same type of anti-1st Amendment restrictions on the media as we have on the 2nd Amendment. In short I will never support ANY "gun laws" as long as the fake media is allowed to run wild and practically unregulated.
After being contacted by a Chicago attorney who served as former first lady Michelle Obama’s chief of staff, the top prosecutor in Cook County asked the city’s top cop to turn over the Jussie Smollett probe to the FBI, according to reports. Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx reached out to Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson after Tina Tchen, the former senior Obama official, emailed the prosecutor saying the “Empire” actor’s family had “concerns” about the probe
The circus is back in town

He has resumed filming the last two episodes of the Fox drama, they haven't fired him as of yet but they don't have to use the film if he is convicted. The drama Empire has not as of yet been selected for another season.
The way Ive heard it is they left him in the last 2 episodes to figure out a way of having him disappear, but he is fired. Wont matter much either way though...hard to film a series from inside a jail cell.

Bill, we don't usually come out as the "grammar police" but this time I think you need to replace your period with a question mark.
I will answer your question. I care ! Deeply.
This jackwagon, who is a queer, and a dumbocrat, also a member of the liberal HollyWeird world of Kalifornia, is perpetuating a litany of series of false attacks. He was not attacked, yet his false claim attacked the US President and the President's supporters.
ok thank you cliffw. I did not know the grammer police were here. I had better not post anymore because my grammer sucks. I was just tired of hearing about the person.

I think what Cliff was getting at is we shouldn't ignore this and let it just happen and forget it. Too may times race is used to justify behavior and good people pay the consequences. If this is not followed and those involved both Jussie and the media not punished for the crime we will have lost more than just some drama.
As for grammar I don't think a bunch of gear heads will run you off because of a period. Its more about the post questing why we should care instead of a statement of fact. Have a good night.
Thank you Mr. Jake. I don't know all the rules here. They seem a little different than other forums I have been on. I do try to abide by rules. I have been reading more than posting but I still do not know the people that are jokers and those who are really mad at things you say.
I don't want to ruffle anyone on here. I just like thses little care and always wanted to get one. When I did a search this site came up and just for fun and reading and maybe some of my handy work could be maybe of some help. So I asked to join. I should do more reading and less posting untill my grammer/ spelling gets better or I have something of substance to offer. Thank you Bill

Here is a lesson that has served me well in life: Don't take too seriously anybody wearing a green tutu with a toothbrush on his hat.
The only rules we have are those written out by Cliff Pennock. Beyond that, this is kind of like the corner tavern. There are all kinds of people here, more varied than any other forum so sit down, have a beer, or a Shirley Temple with an umbrella. We won't laugh (too much).
Oh, and cliffw is a good guy, honest, hard working and smart; but if you do order that Shirley Temple, don't wave the umbrella in his face.

I wish I was as articulate is you. When looking at this forum, please realize that some of us have been in heated or otherwise adversarial positions with one another or conversely have agreed with other members and developed a bond or adversarial roles already. Just take things at face value and ask honest questions and you will be much accepted and respected. Just try to keep threads on topic and ask unrelated questions in Private Messages or start a new thread as much as possible. I, for one am guilty of crashing threads by changing the subject matter. So my advice is from experience, not a pet peeve of mine. Welcome to PFF.

The grammar police is not here. I just wanted to answer the question. Sorry for the confusion. Also, a belated welcome to the forum. You fit in just fine.
You should have seen the grammar of Rick's when he was an early on poster / contributor. Help me out members with his forum name. He was part of the short bus crew from PA(?) and now lives in NE Houston. Rick is a heck of a nice guy, good natured, could take a joke and dish one out. We witnessed his grammar improve greatly over the years. Heck, I was right proud of him as he learned something which will serve him well in every aspect of his life.
Wade around in here BodymanBill. Soon you will be in the deep end, in over your head, .

Well Willie, I will let you in on a little secret. That "toothbrush" has been the cause of many 'earth shattering Ka-Booms, on the orgasmic scale, while I have been learning about the anatomy of your Earth girls.
This is interesting. All charges have been dropped.
I wonder if this "news" will squeeze the Mueller report out of the limelight. Wouldn't that be convenient? Think of the parallels, the rush to judgement. Smollett's lawyer is involved in the Avenatti extortion scandal.
Methinks something is rotten in Denmark Obama's home turf.

It would take a very high ranking politician within Chicago to pull this off.
The more popular the person is, the more power he could wield. If this person has the influence to persuade Police Department and the State Government.........

They are saying that the case hinged on the check, and that was insufficient evidence. No evidence, innocent until proven guilty, starting to sound familiar?
Anything we say about Trump or Smollett will be thrown right back at us. This is just too convenient. It makes me wonder if this was the reason for the Smollett thing, from the start. But again, I am just throwing crap against the wall.

At this point, we all just speculating, but a few key words that I heard boiled down to "the prosecutor should not try a case in the public court of opinion". That has $$$$$$$ written all over it. BUT hopefully I am the one who is wrong.
Apparently, Smollett has forfeited his $100,000 bond. Chicago said,"Go home, keep your mouth shut and we are keeping your money."
His defense team has said that the money was given to the "State", I interpret this as a "down payment" for a "good guy" public relations stunt. He was built up as an upstanding citizen and helps many people. They can just say that he AGAIN is showing his true nature as a pillar of forgiveness and foot soldier in the trenches to help the masses, giving time and treasure to the community.
