PO replaced the wiper board but I got about a dozen phantom wipes during my 5 mile shakedown cruise. I could have sworn there were a zillion threads on this but a search isn't finding them.

What's the fix?

Ok here's the deal. A member on here was making a device that cured the problem. I bought one and never had a phantom wipe since.

Looks like that's for the initial phantom wipe. Mine doesn't wipe when I start the car but randomly as I'm driving.

Monkeyman.... Mine would wipe upon starting the car as well as driving down the road. This gadget solved both problems and that's been years ago.

The one I got looks a bit different than the one shown and may have been made by a different member but the idea is the same.

Gotcha. Any idea what all those symbols (in your linked thread) mean? I can't read electrical schmatics.

The one on the left is a 250 microfarad capacitor and the one on the right is a diode.

OK. So, if I go to an electronics store and tell them I need a 250 microfarad capacitor and a 1N4001 diode, they'll give me what I need? Looks like both go inline?

Oh, crap. Someone just make me one and tell me where to plug it in. mmeyers was selling them for 12 bucks but he's just about done doing business as he's about to embark on a "world tour".
