replacing transmission cables on an '87 Fiero by Schpenn

I am replacing the two transmission cables leading to the gear selector on an '87 Fiero with manual and an inline four cylinder. The suggestions of the local parts store were not quite long enough to reach all six gears when installed. Any advice on which two specific cables are needed or where to find this info would be appreciated. Thanks.
