I have an 86 GT. I was wondering what the RPM should be at when driving a 100k or 60mph. I run at almost 3000rpm. It seems too high.

Probably just about right. That is the problem with the 3 speed automatic. It was set up for 55mph speed limits, and spins pretty fast at 70 mph. There were 3 different final drive ratios, and the V6 got the higher ones.
