Today I went to work on my '86 gt and messed up the drivers side door skin having my door open too far backing it out of my carport hitting a post. I have 2 notchback fiero's for parts with round molding. will the body man be able to get the lower gt panel off and put it on my new door skin?

I hate it when stuff like that happens....... I've done similar

Yes, I've replaced door skins and transferred moldings many times. It's not to hard, you might be able to do yourself. I'm sure there is info here on the forum on "how to". Also check out Youtube for videos.

You may need to replace some of the clips that hold it on so keep that in mind, and a couple of good molding clip removal tools will help, they are not very expensive. If you are not near an automotive paint or parts store that carries the clips & tool you could also get them off ebay. Also, Dealers should have the clips (bring a sample with you if you can).

good luck with the project.

Looks like you bent the metal part of the door also, MAY be easier just to swap doors if you have a complete one.
