Looking to find my two 1988 Fiero Formulas. Rhode Island Let a friend take both cars to install two Caddy V8's. Man has cars and motors for a couple years with no progress. I was having some health issues making them a back issue at the time. Finally diagnosed as being ok, go to find out about my cars, man has died. Son says dead father's girlfriend let a nephew take my cars. Now the girlfriend is gone, don't know what is where. The two vin numbers are: 1G2PE119XJP201890 and 1G2PE1199JP207518. I know this sounds weird but you can't make a story like this up. Any information leading to finding them would be greatly appreciated. A check with local police showed that both vin numbers are not currently registered in Rhode Island. Thanks, again.
I don't know if you remember but who was the guy that had a bunch of people's cars for engine transplants, screwed the people over, and all of the car's were sitting in his vacant back yard? Was that Lloyd?
Did you file a police report? If the man never executed a mechanic’s lien on them then they’re legally still yours. If you have the titles report them as stolen. If you don’t have the titles and have no way of getting them then they’re gone.

There was Loyde Rascoe, aka FastFieros... but that's going back 10 years or so.
And then there was Dean Cain, aka Whodeanie, who also had some issues.
One of those names might ring a bell with the OP.

Hmmmm.... but for the big screen in the background (& the pic not being black & white), why do I suspect that could be you "back in the day"? AKA: Bjorns Keptic. LOL!
You may also check with 88databaseguy to see if he has them listed in his registry. It usually includes the location, whether it be in a junk yard or private ownership.
First talk to someone in law enforcement and perhaps a lawyer. Laws are weird and you may have nothing that can be done. You could also run a Carfax on the cars and see if the registration has recently changed. With the time frame so unknown its going to be harder to give good advice.
Hi There! I am from Massachusetts . What color are your cars, sunroof or T tops, just in case I see them. I'll be sure to take notice where I see any formula fieros.
Sorry to hear of your troubles rstadnick. I do not have any info on either of your cars, but I've added them to the database with a note about them being missing. If anything turns up I'll let you know. From their position in the production run I gather they are Red. If you get the time, shoot me a PM with other details that might help in noticing them when I'm cruising around the internet looking for 88s.

RI and others w/o a Title, registration still have VIN so will show if anyone drives the car. If sold/given to an out of state person, many states still requires a Title but...

"If the man never executed a mechanic’s lien on them then they’re legally still yours." is not that simple... Example: State(s) etc can say he abandon the cars by ignoring years of problems w/ a business and business owner dies and still ignore problems. Then add in most states give new clean titles for impound/abandon cars to nearly anyone so later they can sell or be driven. Many have rules for individuals getting new titles but many are not online just visiting whatever DMV sites.
Even waited too long to sue the estate to recover the cars and/or money. Get a lawyer or you could see big trouble trying to recover the cars.
