I'm looking at stage 2 clutches for the factor 86 5speed and I'm in a pickel between spec and centerforce. What have you guys used and what's your favorite? I need to find one for my project 3800sc. Thanks guys!

The stage 3 had chatter issues and couldn't hold the torque. The 3+ fixed that

I am helping with the project. I have one ????, do we need to use the 2.8 or the 2.5 clutch? His was a 2.5 5 speed which would make his a Isuzu tranny the 2.8 have the getrag right? Dose the mean the 2.5 is the one that needs to be used.
Thanks

I had a spec 3 in my stock swap.

It was an older version, and all the springs popped out.

Swapped to a Clutchnet Costum clutch, and haven't had a problem since.

I had the centerforce at first and it wouldnt hold the power at all on a stock 3800sc. I built up the motor a bit and was reluctant on getting the SPEC stage 4 unsprung, but that is what I went with. I am glad I did because the chatter is minimal and the pedal feel is not that stiff. I would recommend the clutch to anyone who is planning to add any power-adders in the future.

I like my stage 5 but there is only 2-3 of us that need it. The 3+ sounds like a winner for any mild setup.

Stupid question maybe? I have Rogers flywheel for the 3800sc and Im using the getrag trans couldn't figure out which clutch I buy. I'll be more specific.. The flywheel is from a firebird I think? So do I buy a firebird pressure plate and Fiero clutch? I'm confused.

I went with the Spec 3+. After the 500mi break in period of city driving and no WOT, I am very very happy with my choice! No slipping, no chatter, and it holds the power. I bought the clutch off of Amazon.com part#SC883F for $418.49, well worth it!

I got the clutch and flywheel bolts from the local GM dealership.
Clutch bolts: part# 24571667 $2.60 each times 6= $15.60
Flywheel bolts: part# 24505092 $3.20 each times 8= $25.60

Torque specs:
flywheel: 11 lb/ft + 50* (I like to use a bit of red thread lock on the bolts)
clutch: 15 lb/ft + 45* (I like to use a bit of red thread lock on the bolts)

I had a Spec Stage 2. Lots of pressure and heavy pedal effort but held well.
Had a problem with clutch release bearing collapsing for some reason.

Replaced it with a Bully Stage 3 - high clamping with low effort. Love it.
A friend here used same clutch as me with his 3800 S/C and is thrilled with it.
