I made these for myself and they've been quite useful. I've been using them for several months now in my daily driver. They have done a great job of keeping the mud, rain, and snow off my original mats and carpet. They have stood up to the use very well and are not showing any signs of wear. These are very light and can be rolled up and stored if you only want to use them in bad weather. You could also store them behind your seats until needed. My suggestion is to stick them in and use them until your next show. Save your good mats or disguise your unsightly ones. These are a great value at $25 shipped for a pair! I think you'll like them. The colors available will be dependant upon the availability of the material.

I had Jonathan make me a set of these. These are in my daily driver. They were cut nicely and fit great. An inexpensive alternative to expensive floor mats. They are holding up well, and if they get muddy or dirty, you can rinse them off. You won't be disappointed.

great idea. I have to ask, is there a way to put a lip on this? Water could just run off the side. Of course, the price would increase, as you are not just cutting out, but modifying.

I suppose some sort of trim could be added. I've not looked at what might be available or suitable. The reversing curves might cause some problems. If a trim product will bend one way around a curve, it will likely not want to bend smoothly the opposite way.
I have also been asked about designs and logos. I took a mat to two different printing shops. They did not feel like they could apply any graphics because of the texture of the mats and the heat needed to apply them might damage the material. They both agreed that air-brushing could work. I've not looked any further into that possibility.
My desire is to offer them as is so they can be an easy and cheap purchase for anyone. I'd be very interested in seeing what any of you do with them as far as functional or cosmetic modifications.
I went out looking for supplies yesterday. What I found looked like dark gray. It could have been black. I don't think so but it was much darker than the mats shown in my pic.

They're pretty simply designed from the factory but I think it may be nice to have them be just a bit wider to get some better coverage considering my work boots tend to make the floor a bloody mess some days.

What about making a mat for the trunk out of the same material? I was thinking one for the middle level of the trunk to hide the stuff in the bottom. I think that material would be just stiff enough to work without a backing. I would be interested in a light grey mat and black trunk combo.

I have made a carpet kit for the front trunk. I made a duplicate for CrazyDragn. I could make more of those. This is not a great shot but it gives you the idea.
I think I could develop it to fit better. Not sure how the mat material would work in there but I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Once again, this is just my opinion and it is worth about what you paid for it...
I don't think this material for the front trunk would go over well. The point of lining the front trunk is generally to make it look more plush....where this material makes it look more utilitarian. I also doubt you could get this to blend into the curves well up front...but I have been known to be wrong before.

I wasn't sure if you meant the rear trunk. Better to eliminate doubt. I can work on a rear trunk piece.
I'll take a set of the "black". Can you leave tabs that extend to the seat bolts to keep it from sliding?
I went out looking for black today. I did find it but it costs twice as much. I doubt anyone wants to pay double. The dark gray is very dark and there is plenty of it available. I only found one more roll of the light gray so if anyone wants it, you better speak up fast.
I confirmed the availability of the red also. Thought it would work in an Indy. However, it has the same problem as the black. Costs twice as much. Don't ask me why. Sorry.
OK...I'll speak up. I want a set of light gray. But before shipping, I want to find out what is happening with a trunk mat. I suppose dark gray would work for that.

If I could find a supply of material that would work in black for a decent price, I'd be happy to make them. Today, CrazyDragn and I went all over town looking for material. We did find black but it is not the same as what I used before. The light gray mats I made are the perfect thickness. They are thick enough to not wrinkle and thin enough to be lightweight and storable. We found several kinds of black but they were all double in price or more. On top of that, the sheets were usually smaller! That means everyone would have to pay more because fewer sets could be made out of one sheet. Some of the black was much thicker, too. That would make it harder to use the same mailing boxes which means possibly more cost for packaging. It's just not a good option. For those wanting black, I recommend waiting until someone orders the dark gray. When that happens, I'll post pics of them side-by-side with the light gray ones and maybe you'll find that you can live with dark gray.
CrazyDragn bought some thin black rubber mat material and I cut the mats out for him. They are not going to be good enough. They are going to slide and bunch up. Nobody wants that! He paid $15 for the sheet and it was only big enough for one pair of mats. I'm not going to offer a low quality product.

It is harder to see but that is CrazyDragn's front trunk with the black carpet that I cut for him. As you can see, It needs some tweaking to be ready to sell to members. I do want it to fit better than either of our pics show. It will come down to interest by the members if I do the work to make it available.
I just took an order for a set of the dark gray mats. I went to the store to get the material and I took a few pics of the different colors side-by-side. The black thing in the pic is just there for color reference. It is a dog bed and it's not going to work for anything I'm doing.
Those of you wanting black may find that dark gray is dark enough for you.

There was only one more roll of the light gray material at the store yesterday. I'll buy it as soon as I have a paid order for a pair of the light gray mats.
If you want the light gray, you may want to act soon. I don't know if there will be any more light gray available and this last roll might get away from me. One roll of material will only make 3 pairs of mats so claim yours soon!

The carpet is cheaper but only one trunk kit can be made per sheet. I want to keep the profits the same as with a sheet of mat material even though the capet is much more labor intensive. That is the reason for the difference in cost of the two products. I can get three pairs of mats from one sheet of material.
That being said, I would be happy to extend the same discount toward the purchase of a bumper for my carpet kit customers. $15 credit for carpet or mats purchased. I will combine those credits if you buy more than one product.
