Being terrible with money, I'm now looking into a pocket-pocket-rocket (a very small crotch rocket, mainly for kids). I was wondering if anyone has one or knows anything about them. I'm looking for one that gets a SOLID 30+ mph, and a fair amount of mpgs. Would like to spend the least amount possible of course, and wouldnt like to exceed $250...unless its amazing...even then its iffy.
Heres some I found

http://baltimore.craigslist.../mcy/2321497090.html $200

http://www.usapocketbikes.com/cagllari-mini-bike/ $245

http://baltimore.craigslist.../mcy/2365007510.html possibly $250

http://www.motobuys.com/pocket-bike-mt2.html $255

http://www.minipocketrockets.com/mx3-pocketbike/ $260

http://www.usapocketbikes.com/mx3-pocketbike/ $265

http://www.minipocketrocket...m/blade-pocketbikes/ $300

http://www.minipocketrockets.com/raptor-mini-bike/ $300

http://www.usapocketbikes.com/mtx-pocketbike/ $305

http://www.minipocketrockets.com/rsr-mini-bike/ $330

http://www.usapocketbikes.com/rsr-mini-bike/ $335

<--- If I can get him down to $300 or so, this seems amazing
http://baltimore.craigslist.../mcy/2385588224.html asking $400

<-- I've got a friend who may be interested to go splitsies
http://baltimore.craigslist.../mcy/2343154187.html $700 "Not firm"

EDIT: all bikes now include shipping

I narrowed all the store-bought ones down to the orange one because, all either have 5 hp or 5.2 (this has 5.2), get "up to" 47 or 50 mph (this gets 50), it doesnt have slicks, its one of the larger ones, and frankly, it looks the best. Seem fair?

Edit: called up, and "50+ MPH" was heavily modded with a 90 lbs rider. He said I should still be able to get 30mph or so though. Shipping is also $60...

I had this diablo mini chopper for the longest time. I put some SDG pit part on it and have had it doing 60+ many times. Its a honda 110 CC with a big bore kit.

http://www.motorcycle-bike-...i-chopper-parts.html
I also had a mini 110CC crotch rocket. I liked the chopper way better as it was more fun to ride. Both were 4 speeds and could go plenty fast but the rocket just was not as fun. The 2 stroke ones suck along with the automatic ones. I had a automatic rocket and it was just....lame. The 4 speed you could dump the clutch and get the front tire off the ground. Also note how high the pegs are. Some put the pegs way low for taller people and you end up dragging them. Stay away from Ricardo motors (brand) as they are crap. If you are looking for a true pit bike look into SDG. THey are cheap enough and are tanks.

I had one of the 49cc pockets, about 3 feet long. It was fun, but I got it when they first came out and paid like $600. I got it to take to big car shows to get around and run short errands. It was made in China and every bolt and screw on it had to be retightened, carb actually fell off once. I got rid of it because car shows banned them and you cannot use it in town except in your yard or somewhere offroad. Here if your caught on street or sidewalk, they impound it.

As Roger said....check with the DMV in your state to see if you can even license one. Around here, they aren't legal for on road driving...you can't license or insure them.

If your going to get one, get an X-18/19, they are classified as a midbike and will reach mid 50mph speeds on a 110cc engine. They come in 4 speed manual or auto, and have most of the stuff to make them road legal if that is your intent. 95% of pocket bikes are made in China, and they hold up pretty well for what they are but as someone mentioned, the whole bike needs to be gone over and bolted together properly.
