it was just mention by drudge live on his radio show christopher reeve has pasted away sun night

Nikki Finke in Los Angeles is reporting that actor Christopher Reeve is dead, according to sources close to the actor. He died suddenly Sunday. News of his death has not been reported publicly yet. His family will make an announcement Monday at the earliest. Reeve was just mentioned Friday in the second live presidential debate by John Kerry. Noting he was a friend of the paralysed Reeve, Kerry said he was in favor of further stem cell research because Reeve could walk again one day thanks to such science.... MORE...

Drudge Report is fast. Wow! Not even the other news sites picked this up yet, although on the Drudge it says that it has not been publically announced yet.

Wow! Too bad. When they do the memorrum part during the academy awards, it is going to be very sad.

Fox News website just announced it, but none of the others yet.

Man! I really enjoyed Super Man. To me, no matter who they have playing any supermen after him, Chris will still be the only one in my eyes.

This sucks.
That man WOULD have walked again if he lived long enough. He was already regaining some feeling in his legs and could move them in a walking motion doing water therapy in a pool (couldn't support any weight). And he could breathe on his own without a respirator again.

If it was ever possible for someone with his injury to recover - he would have done it. I have no doubt of that.

Rest in peace, Christopher. You'll be missed.

Rest In Peace Superman.

I grew up watching Superman. I wanted to be Superman. He is and was my role model. He is the epitomy of what Americans should be.

I have had a day from hell, and this has not helped me any. This actually made me cry when the breakup with my GF has not.

You espouse more Naziism on this board through your ultraconservatism than most anyone else; I don't wanna hear it from you. How many people joked and wished the worst for Clinton as he underwent surgery, only to stumble and say, "Er, uh, he's still a human and, er, uh, I wish him the best." I have nothing against him and feel glad for him that he's in a better place. He demonstarted great strength fighting the RepubliNazi machine to get stem cell research, just as any/all of you Repugs would (flip-flop) do if a family member with Parkinsn's or another related condition.

Remember, my Bible-thumping friend, it is your Nazi party that he fought for the right to get stem cell research. Who has Reeve more against, me for posting that silly animation, or you for blocking his right ot walk/live? Get your priorities in order and read my reply to LZeitgeist.

I'm back.... your are wrong for you initial post and your following comments.

Chris Reeve was an inspiration to the rest of the human race. Even when faced with the highly probable fact that he would never walk again, he NEVER gave up. How long had he been confined to that chair? He NEVER gave up. Thats courage. Thats what real hero's are made of.

The world will miss you sir.

I don't remember ANYONE wishing him the worst. Even those of us who despised him, politically, wished him well. And before you open your sewer hole to say anything about me, *I* said in the thread about his surgery "forget politics, wish him well". And I *meant* it, dickbreath.

EdsB52 has shown that his only interest is in causing problems. He's even tried to turn a thread about the death of an actor into a political / religious thread. His only purpose here is to troll and start flame wars. It's long past time he was shown the door - AGAIN.

Nope. I disagree with you, but you weren't being abusive, calling people names, or trying to start a flamewar.
I rarely rate people in T/OT, unless they're acting like a complete jerk.

Even on the Fark comment thread - which is notorious for dark humor and taking pot shots at people's death, the Fark moderator said, "This is not the time or place to troll." I agree.

I never knew Christopher Reeve
So why on Earth do I now grieve
This husband, father, brother, son
Whose time and trials now are done?
Even crippled this man stood
For things we all believe are good
Kindness, dignity, and truth
Aren't things one puts on in phone-booths
Clear the skies of birds and planes
And his spirit still remains
-SherKhan (quoted from Fark)

A dignified little tribute there.

I respected Christopher Reeve. He used his own personal tragedy to try to help other people.

That's admirable, whether or not one agrees with the stem cell issue.

You gotta see Ed's point though.. If I was reeves and fighting hard to get stem cell research, and then when I die everybody who is against it was saying "Christopher Reeves was a great man, yadda yadda yadda", I'd be sickened..

Ed doesn't have a point other than to stir up crap. He slams Austrailia, Christians, and Republicans in a thread about Christopher Reeve. What possible point is there other than him being a troll?

Even if you disagree with stem cell research, it's still possible to respect the man for the way he lived his life. When even your opponents respect you, that says something about your character.

that is a super bummer!
I don't even believe he is dead it's just not possible. From the beginning i knew he would walk again.I just have always felt that. It's as though somebody bumped the cosmos and things got out of kelter because shouldn't have happened. It just seems wrong.

He was a rock of strenth.Unbelievable super powers if you ask me and if you don't think so just try and imagine what it takes to live after that.Just try i dare you.You can't come up with enough dispair to even come close.Where do you get the strength to go on when it is so much easier not to.
He not only continues he triumphs and can't be stopped. He was well past what the experts said couldn't happen.Sheer force of will was his weapon.

Christopher not only helped himself he helped thousands of people by proving to them they could go on..He publicly plowed the way through the impossible. He championed success, perserverence and determination for all those that were overwhelmed with hopelessness.

I look back at the superman series and think he sure does fit the part.Silly plots and all the dorkyness of the show he was able to pull it together and make it seem noble.Well if their was any doubt before i don't think there is now.He had it in him the whole time.He didn't have to act like a hero it was natural for him.Perfect for the part he played.People may say the part made him but i don't agree.I think he made the part.

Christopher Reeve was more than just a actor and good man,He was the real Super Man

------------------
I will not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain
