As some of you know i had no choice but to let go of the car i bought when my son was born due to a blown motor and nowhere to do the job. It really sucked! BUT.... I now know i made the right choice to let it go to where it went. I offered the car to Hardpact here on PFF and at the time he offered to swap for the automatic he had sitting. My son and i were so distraught we decided there could be no replacement. So i turned it down. (stupid) Not too long after i had asked if the offer still stood. It did! Honestly, i can't say enough good things about Hardpact that would even remotely hit home to most people. This means the world to me and my son. I know it wont sink in 100% with my son till he can ride in it but i did get him to sit in it before i left it's location and he has been giddy ever since. He said "I can't wait until we can drive around in it. Where are your tools? we need to get this done, NOW! so we can drive it home."
It does have some issues and Monday is "Diagnostic Day". More on this later. Threads are useless without pics. Here she is before he left to deliver her...
And here is a teaser shot of her current position. (for now) if ya look close enough you can see Hardpact hiding.
aaannnndddd a crappy shot of last minute.
So here's the skinny of the issues so far from what i know. Brakes stop evenly but you gotta hammer down hard to make it stop. My guess is the booster... we shall see. The electrical needs love. Headlight motors have no response, coolant temp gauge not working, fan switch is unknown, oil pressure and volt meter not working in the rally gauges. I'm guessing fuseable link B but we shall see as well. I WILL find what is the root cause but anybody else wanna take a guess in the meantime?
In conclusion, Please show some love to Hardpact! He IS a great man, and a (increasingly rare) Man of his word!
Thank you again Tom from me and my family! I'd give you another + if i could.
Thank you DL10 for making this possible as well!

I'm so glad your son has another car. It was killing me to see both of you without one. Hardpact is a great guy and I am VERY happy for both of you. Now get your ass in gear and get that on the road ASAP

I'm gonna try to get up there with it over the summer. We can swap the seats. won't matter to me because I'm going to try and get some skins from me mike eventually.
Rally gauges are fixed, headlights fixed, vacuum line for booster good. Check valve... No good. Booster is no good either. Got to wait for a part now. :/
Rally gauges - bad solder from a short at the ignition wire. Ignition wire had tape that melted off and was shorted to ground. Headlights - corrosion at the fuse.
Other parts will be here tomorrow but won't be able to do it till later in the week.

Awesome! Glad you guys got another fiero. Great stuff and great peeps it sounds like. Seems like a great car too. Unless I missed something it seems like mostly small problems with it. I cant wait to see what you guys do with it. Please try and keep us posted when you get the chances.

I replaced the booster with a known good one. Check valve and all. Still extremely stiff. I've had a master go bad and do the same thing. Also had one have a proportion valve go bad do the same thing. I also noticed the rear calipers look rough. No ebrake cable. So... Going to replace master, prop valve, rubber lines, all four calipers, ebrake cables. My old one would stop on a dime with cross drilled/slotted and ceramics. I intend to do the same here. We shall see.
After I'll rebuild the calipers and master. Then probably vacuum bag em and save em.
Did you ever figure out your 88 with the same problem?

I was actually debating if I should pull the 88 setup off one of the cars at my local junk yard. Was going to "upgrade" but don't see a point when my old one worked perfect.
i knew it wasnt going to be the booster .... but i would try the master ... and i took the e- brake cables off cause i dropped the whole cradle out it was easier that way plus they were frozen.....i think it also could be the propotioning valve

I'm really missing the 32mpg on regular gas from my GT, this damn GP is getting about 18 on premium and its killing me . Its the worst on open loop, the gauge goes down a tick whenever I start driving after a cold start, smells rich and expels a bit of black smoke lol.
What do you mean those seats are "odd"? Those are rare!! Very uncommon upgraded leather/suede seats for the 86/87's. If you don't want them I'm take them. Lol
But anyway, yea, this is looking great! Another Fiero being restored is a good feeling.

Yeah she's got plates. Can't go anywhere yet but that should be solved Sunday.
Ive never been a fan of leather seats. When I can I'll probably look for cloth seats or get some mr mikes. They really aren't in that bad of shape either. Honestly never seen them before. Almost makes me feel bad to take em out.

Yes, please save those seats. I know this may not mean much, but living a nothing but Fiero's life since I got mine is 2008, those are only the 2nd set of those seats I have ever seen. And I have seen alot of Fiero's since then.
