Sounds like a rant - but isn't. Generally the first thing I do whenever I get a new vehicle is GET A SERVICE MANUAL.

Then I have somewhere to look if I can't find a fuse, signal flasher or can't start the engine. It's so much faster than coming in the house, posting a question on a forum somewhere, and searching the Internet while waiting for answer from somebody, then sometimes trying to figure out what the person is saying if they're not clear. The Service Manual has pictures, diagrams, and step by step diagnostics to help fix problems.

Someone who can't even identify the distributor DEFINITELY needs one.

I realize printed Helms manuals aren't cheap, and Fiero owners are but manuals can be downloaded these days.
Having a manual on your computer can save you a load of grief, provided you're not too lazy to look up the information you need.

Fiero Thomas has manuals can be downloaded here. http://www.fieronews.net/fusion/downloads.php

FULL Service Manual for 86 (good for 84-87) and one for the 88. Haynes manual (for those who want it) is under Tech.

Happy reading

Lots of people here are making repairs or mods and have no idea of how their Fiero is put together. They need a Fiero Body Manual.

I've split the Body Service Manual section out from the 1986 Factory Service Manual and made it available separately for download. This is a small 113 page, 7 MB PDF file for quick download Click here to start it now.

It's handy to print this out and put in a 3-ring binder. You don't need this file if you've already downloaded the complete 78 MB 1986 Factory Service Manual

I tried to buy the 87 helms from a guy on the yahoo list a few years ago, got stiffed for 50 bucks, so for whoever put the service manual up there i'm indebted forever

( i assume the differences between 86 and 87 are not enough to worry about )

Man, and I JUST finally got my hard copy 3 weeks ago. I could have saved some cash!? Does this mean the value of mine just depreciated!? JK

Thanks for the time to scan, I'll enjoy having the PDF in my laptop so I can always have it with me.

I'm wondering if the 87 manual will show up (?) There are some important differences between the 86 and 87, including the headlight system, fuel tank and fuel expansion tank.

I see people still asking silly questions they could answer themselves in minutes WITH A MANUAL.
I mean, where do you think the people taking the time to answer your question got their information from?

Don't have one? There are FREE downloads of them. http://www.fieronews.net/fusion/downloads.php
