Back when I had 2 Fieros, they were called "the black one" and "the silver one". Now, I only have the silver one. And since I started heavily customizing it, I figured I'd give it a name. After all, everybody gives names to their heavily modded rides, right?
Some of the mods I've performed on the car are pretty unique. So I named it "The Freak". But most of the time I just cal it "the Fiero".

I prefer to name a kit or part, but for my Fieros I'd rather number them; #011, #015, and #020. Besides, nobody is going to remember the name given and if they do remember-it's in a shortened or abbreviated form.

My first one, an 88GT, was "Expeditor". That's the person in charge of the movement of goods from one place to another. The 88 Coupe had perfect original bright red paint when I got it from the original owner, and I named it "Hot Wax". Haven't bothered to name the black 84SE I have now.
With help from the State of Michigan. $35 for 2 plates. i can change it whenever i want. for $35 it may have many names when its all said and done. a new one every year.hummm.....
anyway, these Meras are to have a Serial Number sticker in the trunk. 70XX for the 88, 1987 Meras and 8XXX for the 159, 1988 Meras. well mine has none. so Mera X is in reference to the unknown Mera. My Mera, X. to disclaim the authenticy of my Mera.
#1- the Godfather of the Meras, Mr. Rodney Dickman, has mentioned here on the PFF, that the "early" Meras may have been issued without stickers.
#2- after the discovery of the 1986 Mera Prototype earlier this year. as per the photos (visual proof, always good .....i have more in common with the '86 Proto than i do with any other Mera except Mera #7005. in Sweden! thats so cool. there are way too many little things in-common that, it is for sure an Early Mera......i am so happy. when i first got it i was crying that i had nothing in common with the Meras already here. all the Mera guys were very tolerant and helpful. but after a year of diggin and hoping....it has payed off. I AM SOLD.

Mine I call it "La Fiera". Fiera is a Spanish word that only applies to big felines like Tiger, Panther, Leopard, Cheetah, etc. It describes the natural behaviour of them; fierce and fearless.
On one unnamed web site they have names that make the Gay Orange Fiero sound good!
Lets just say PT Cruizers and VW Beetles attract a unique crowd.
The 2008 New Beetle is actually really fun to drive. It is only recent that the car has been dubbed "feminine," even by VW itself. I drove a convertible green new beetle for a while and it was great. It was 5-speed and topped out around 145-150mph. A lot of fun.

The nickname my friends and I used to call my Indy (R.I.P) was Fyreo, pronounced Firey-O. Two reasons one friend couldn't spell worth a toot, and the other it had sporadic engine fires half a dozen times.
As I posted before, I call mine "My car" or "The Fiero." Never was a fan of car naming.
Before the Fiero, I was rebuilding a 1953 Chevy pickup that I never finished. My wife nicknamed it "Frank"--short for "Frankenstein" because it had: Yukon seats, Jeep steering column, '68 Chevelle posi differential, S-10 gas tank, '68 350 engine, Mustang II front suspension, S-10 power brake booster, Chevy truck brake pedal, Pontiac bracing for pedal, Pontiac rims, aftermarket bed, bumpers, running boards, etc plus aftermarket bedwood I never installed, Oldmobile rearview mirror and a host of other parts I gladly gave the guy who bought it. Oh, the paint was from a 2006 Avalanche/Corvette chip.
My Fiero is all Pontiac--even to the 3800SC and tranny for the time being that is--but I have a Firebird rear spoiler that would really look good on it...hmmm.

I'm stuck between "Instigator" and "Scavenger". My Fiero is phenomenal at starting stuff, races, fights, etc. And my Fiero is comprised of mostly excessively cheap parts or parts that were given to me. So, I'm still torn.
Yes, Dance told me about the toxic clouds belched all over Indy from your beater.

Sir, you are so lucky to have a daughter that appreciates the Fiero. I seen so many fathers that built a car for there kids only to have them Dislike it and say they wanted a new car. Claiming they would be a joke driving such a junker. I seen it with a 69SS Camaro a 65 rustang and a 63 Nove II .. All 3 where show quality cars..

I wish I'd gotten a 69 SS when I turned 16.

I'm going to start calling mine the "Red Headed Stepchild" because the paint is red and if it doesn't start acting right I'm going to beat it like one.
My formula is appropriately named "Vroom-Pow". I think the vroom part is pretty self explanatory, but the pow is the blow off valve that always follows vroom

I have a few names for my Fiero's - really depends on if I am driving them or working on them. Carver was close. The V8 Coupe has kinda stuck on my 86 SBC car - originally it was the "Twin Duke" - I have heard that a DUKE is 1/2 of a SBC?
I call my Formula - "Red" - simply because it's red but I might have to change to white cause the paint is fading away.
And "Ol Yeller" - aka "The Short Bus"
Together, the V8 Coupe and the Short Bus are now called by my wife "The Twins"
Here is the "XTC" because it is a XTC. The guys at the parts store call it the space ship!
Here's "Rick88's" "Mellow Yellow"! Now living a new life in another part of the country under a new name.
Here's "The Unknown" Fiero! Jan's car has yet to be named!
This is the "PIMA" (pain in my a$$) - not really! This is Jeff's 88 GT that had a stroked 2.8/3.1 then a 4.9 and now a 3800SC. Maybe we can call this car "Transplant"?

When we brought our 86 2m6 s/e home in 06 it was simply called “The Fiero”. My wife wanted to get custom plates for it so we made up a list & off we went to the DMV. I'm glad we had a list of ideas as we were down to about our 7th or 8th choice before we got one that was available. We asked for FUN 4US we got FUN4US with no space. Well one day shortly after we put our new plates on we went to give my aunt a ride in it. She just had a set of “Cadillac’s” (cataracts) removed from her eyes the day before so her eyes were still dilated & in very dark sunglasses. When she looked at our Fiero she read the plates as “FUNGUS.” So she asks my wife why we named the car FUNGUS, & without missing a beat my wife answers; “Well auntie that’s what you get when you put two fifty year olds in a sports car”. Well I bet you can guess what name has stuck to our Fiero – yup your right “FUNGUS”!

Mine got dubbed Snoopy. When i first brought it home we tried the bumpers off my other car on it which were black. First thing i thought off when looking at a white fiero with a black rear bumper was Snoopy. Now during my build my fiancée has gone as far as putting a picture of Woodstock in the window while I am working on it. The more fitting part as well for us is my daily driver is named christine after the movie. The daily driver is a red cavalier. Joke around the house is when snoopy flies again the red baron will lose once more.
