There is a benefit cruise on Sunday, Sept 13 for a Martinsville local lady that had an aneurysm behind her eyes late last month. She is the neighbor of a guy I work with and he is the one organizing this. She has no health insurance and last info I got said she was still in the hospital. The cruise was originally planned for motorcycle riders, but all are welcome regardless of what you drive.
The cost of the cruise is $10 per driver $5 per passenger.
Registration begins at 10am at Jimmy Nash City Park in Martinsville and the cruise heads out at noon.
The cruise will tour scenic Morgan and Brown Counties. We'll go through Nashville and Story before heading back to the park where there'll be food, drinks, door prizes, raffles, and live music
ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS BENEFIT WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE FAMILY TO HELP PAY FOR HOSPITAL, UTILITY AND GROCERY BILLS.
Please come out and support a good cause.

I will send this link out on the Indiana Fiero Club's mailing list.
Sadly, I am way behind on updating memberships because I have been out of town so much. There are a lot of emails in my inbox with folk in Indiana who would like to join The Indiana Fiero Club as well as photos I need to post.
Hang in there, everyone!!!
Anyway, hopefully, some of these guys will join the cause.
The lady this cruise for reportedly was able to come home today, but still faces very hard times ahead. She still needs almost constant care due to the damage done from the aneurysm. I don't have any solid numbers on current med bills, but from my 4 day experience in Cardiac Critical Care at Methodist hospital just over a year ago, I know the cost must be astronomical, as my 4 days was well over $75K, so I can only guess at the cost for 2 months of intensive care.
I still urge all who can make it please do, and those that can't please keep her in your thoughts as she still has a very long and difficult road ahead of her.

That's a hell of a drive. I'm not discouraging it in any way, as I think it would be COOL AS HELL to have a Fiero owner from out of state be there. (assuming your location is correct under your handle... )
I know of atleast 1 Fiero that WILL be there.. (ME ) I hope to see you there, and also hope that I'm not the only one that will be there...

I will be there for the benefit and cruise. At this point in time, the Capital City Fiero Club plans on having 2 cars there from Michigan. I will be in the area (kinda) on Saturday for the Greenville, Ohio Cruise Night, and will be at the Fredman's house for the night. Southern Indiana (Bloomington area) is my old college stomping grounds, so I'm looking forward to this event.
Come on Fiero community, let's turn out for this! The lady needs our help!

Ok, we are a week out, and planning is going strong on this end. For those that are going to be there, I will be at Papa John's at 9-9:15AM and from there I will be hanging out it the parking lot in front of PJ's, Kroger, and Goody's for anyone who wants to meet up there and head to the park together and for people who are unfamiliar with the town, until about 9:45 and from there I'm leaving for the park to be there by 10 to get registered. The Kroger plaza is right off State Road 37 at Ohio Street, coming from the north it's the stop light after Walmart, and coming from the south it's the stop light after Kmart.
As part of registration a waiver of liability must be signed for insurance purposes.
If you plan on being there, but won't be able to be at PJ's by 9:45 and need directions, let me know and I will get them to you.
Let's make this a day to remember for the people that need it to count.

Indiana Fiero Club homepage Click join at the bottom of the page and Email Tod. From what I've heard, he's been busy lately, so it may take a week or so to get you on the members list.
Will be glad to have you here for this! Can't wait to meet you. Are you going to meet at PJ's, or go straight to the park?

I think Papa Johns would be easier for everyone in the long run, since it's easy to find right off the main highway. I plan on being there at about 915 AM and heading to the park at about 10 AM, so there's about a 45 minute window to meet there.
How many are you bringing down with you, not including the Capitol City peeps? So far the only commitments I have are from people that have posted on this thread. Ayrow sent out an Email to the Indiana Fiero Club, but I haven't heard anything from any of the members there, I will send out an email to the club tomorrow and see if I can get any bites. Are you going to meet up with the Capitol City Fiero Club? If so, I think they have 2 coming down, Joe and possibly Capitol City Fiero. I'm the only local Fiero that's going to be there, so it's however many you bring plus the 2 out of Michigan and me that have committed, plus I'm hoping there are some that just show up unannounced.
If my guesstimate is correct, I'm thinking we should have between 6 and 10 committed so far.

Yes I'm meeting with them.......Joe is my Dad. I think we are meeting Bob in Anderson. Locally I have myself and two other cars. I sure would like to find some more to help out this cause....I'll see what I can do. We should be able to meet you at the Papa Johns. Is it on 37? Thanks Steve

Yeah, Papa John's is in the Kroger Plaza at 37 and Ohio Street. Coming from the north on 37, there is the stoplight at 44, which has a Rural/Metro Ambulance garage, a church and a little strip mall. Then there's the S/L at 252, which has a Marathon gas station and a small used car lot. (On a side note, the intersection of 37 and 252 is dangerous, I actually think it ranked in the top 10 most dangerous in the state a few years ago) After 252 theres a S/L at Grand Valley Blvd which has Walmart and a few eateries. The next S/L after that is Ohio street, make a right turn there and the shopping plaza is on your left.
If anyone is coming from the south on 37, out of the Bloomington area, the first stop light at Burton lane, which has a Starbucks, Taco Hell, and a church, the second stoplight is Ohio street, turn left onto Ohio street, and Papa John's will be on your left.
So right now, we are looking at 6 Fiero's total.

Sure sounds like the 37 strip in Martinsville has grown up - I remember when it was 2 lane and corn fields.
Oh yeah, it's a 4 lane divided highway with 5 stoplights, a dozen or so eateries, 4 shopping plazas, 4 gas stations, 3 new car dealerships, and about 4 used car lots. The town itself hasn't really done a lot of growing though.

No other cars, the rest is motorcycles, and the organizer is anticipating around 50 or so. Most if not all of the bikes are going to be local, I wouldn't be surprised if ya'll are the only out of towners on this particular cruise.
Unfortunately our four cars won't be making the trip. Hope the cruise goes well. I was really looking forward to meeting you guys. Maybe our paths will cross again. Thanks steve

I was holding out to the last minute also, but I too have other commitments. Besides I have a leaking water pump awaiting time to get it replaced. I hope all goes well and there is a good turnout for a very good cause. Please keep me informed of future cruises. Someday......
