First a little background. My name is Rick Kaiser and I've been a member here for a couple of years (ARKaiser). This place and everyone with Fieros has been great and very helpful whenever I needed anything. Long story short, I've decided that I need to step up and do something that will be of benefit to the Fiero world. To that end I have taken up the challenge of setting up and maintaining a registry of all 1987 Fieros.

What I am looking to keep track of is the following...
1. VIN
2. Exterior color
3. Interior color
4. Transmission type (Auto or Manual)
5. Power options (PW PL PM)
6. Cruise (Y/N)
7. Spoiler, Luggage Rack or Bareback
8. Sunroof (Y/N)
9. AC or AC Delete
10. Date on the door tag
11. Date on the ALDL
12. Date on the overhead light
13. What State the car is in (Michigan - Ohio whatever)
14. Any special notes (rebody - engine swap - non-stock color etc)

I know some may not want to or will not be able to provide all of the information but the more I get the better the information will be down the road.

You can pm me at this ID or email me the data and I will see that it is entered into the registry. I've got a small start already. I only need to get the information on about 46.550 more cars. Wish me luck.

Rick

Not that I know of. There is the...
84 Indy List
85 GT List (this one may be dead and gone but I thought it was covered by more then one attempt)
this new 87 Registry
the 1988 Database
the MERA List

That's all that I am aware of.

Thanks for the start. Even if all I get is a verified VIN that's great.

If you want to leave the info here that's fine with me and it will keep this bumped to the top.

Yes my White 1987 Fiero vin# 1G2PE11R6HP240857 is a 4 cylinder, automatic, white .Gray interior. it is BRAND NEW NEVER DRIVEN!! 79 actual MILES thats 000079.9 ACTUAL MILES on the ODOMETER. Hasnt been started or driven since July 1987 car was built May 1987. I am preserving it as is in new condition still has window sticker and never been dealer prepped. Still has factory chalk marks on never used tires. Yes its a time capsule. I think its great someone has finally started a registry for the 1987s.

For those of you who are wondering what/where the overhead date is...

Just remove the two outside lens covers and you will see two small screws. Also two screws at the ends of the sun visors where they slip into the light housing. The housing can then be turned over to see the date.

I have been told that the date is faded so bad on some that it is no longer readable. Also some are smeared and can't be read.

Interesting ---

VIN 228196 Door = Jan-87 Overhead = 1/13/1987
VIN 228618 Door = Feb-87 Overhead = 1/8/1987

Only 422 cars between my car and yours. Yet your overhead is dated before mine.

Ya - we know this but GM/Pontiac/Fiero was very tight with JIT parts. The hope is that this date might help in dating production segments. The only real production date would come from the factory records and at this time you need to pay to get a copy of them.

just a bit of info......
I'm not sure if it was done to all Fiero's, but we checked the production date of my INDY to verify the date of the last one produced,
it was located in the drivers door shell. Fred Bartemeyer informed me of this. I removed the door panel and pulled back the door seal,
(paper covering) and there was the production date printed on a 2" X 5" decal.
It might be interesting to see if they continued this on all the cars.
I'll forward my 87's info soon.
Nice job with registry!

I got an 87, I can give ya the info I know, but the car is in storage right now. Also, it had a few things changed on it, so some of it isn't accurate. (If you are really interested in what it originally had, pm LAMBO)

Here's what i got:

VIN - 1G2PF11R9HP221491
Ex. Color - Black
In. Color - Gray
Trans. - Auto
Power op. - Windows, Locks, Mirrors
Cruise - ?

No Sunroof
Has AC
Door tag date - ?
ALDL Date - ?
Overhead Light date - ?
State it is in - MN
Special Notes - PO swapped in a v6 from a four cylinder, lowered, AR rims

Hope that helps

Bump

I want to thank anyone who has sent me information. I still have yet to even hit the 100 car mark though. I can't believe that's all the 87's here. I thought I would be over burdened with data. Well I will take whatever I get and keep hunting online sales etc for more information.
