Does anyone have the brand or part number for a Red 2.8 V6 distributor cap. I believe "Blue Streak" used to make them, but I have not had any luck chasing one down. Any leads on where I can purchase one are greately appreciated!

Happy Holidays!

I got my red cap & rotor from Autozone and I`m not saying that you would have the same thing happen but I just replaced mine with a stock one and the MSD did not have many miles on it.

back when i had my 2.8, i always bought the "good" brass tip one that was blue from the parts store and taped off the nipples and painted it
i just spray'd it down with brake parts cleaner to clean it and then rattle cann'd it
worked great several times over the years

Conrad was the name of the brand Auto Zone sold that were red cap and rotor kits w/ the brass inserts. They are in a gold box w/ black lettering.

But you'll have to get lucky to find them as Auto Zone has been moving to a different brand for their better brass cap/rotor kits.

I had the Conrad ones on mine and never had a problem. Used 2 in 7 years that still looked ok.

Maybe they're now stocking the Wells brand? I know we regularly diss the Wells stuff here, but I have their "Gold Line" distributor cap and it seems really nice with brass terminals. No unusual issues with it in a couple years of use. However the last ones I saw from them (in the Gold Line) were dark grey and not red.

I'll have to look at my red cap now to see if it looks the same

I got mine a couple years ago.. I 'think' it's an MSD cap and rotor for a GM 4.6L Typhoon or Cyclone truck.... something like that...

If you can buy a cap with brass fittings , buy it .
Its the best what you can do for you engine ,because those aluminum cap are nothing worth in my eyes due to the strong oxid coat
building inside an out .

Merry christmas

My current cap/rotor set is red with brass terminals. The rotor is showing wear. As soon as I find a new one I'll post the brand and location where I got it.

Merry Christmas!

I painted mine red. I used engine paint. Krylon Fusion might have been better, though.

Well it looks like Wells is only making that cap in gray now. The part number is the same but the color is now gray. Waahhh!
If anyone has a line on red ones please post here. I am going to contact Wells directly and also MSD.
