Still just sitting around ... but now at least a few of the parts no longer in the Fiero have some use besides collecting dust and ... I got a place to set my coffee cup down.
Just how fast can your coffee table go Tina
BTW ...Kevin See there was a reason the owner of the block you looked at had those rods polished.

How big a shot of NOS were you running to lunch the rods and pistons out of the block like that?
Must of been the rods.
Should of listened when they said not to mix up Hemi with Chevy, silly me.
Anyways attempting to move this boat anchor, even with the wheels on the bottom does not seem to be possible. Carpet moved, but not the table. Slight designflaw on my part.

Wow, cool idea. Four bolt main. Is it still good ? What did that cost ya ?
Four bolt main, but that block is about as toast as toast gets.
Ex boyfriend built that one a few years ago. No, no sentimantal value there. More like revenge is best served cold.
Dollarwise, it cost $150 for the rods and polishing them, the stand about $ 100, the wheels 5 or 6 dollors a piece. The rest I either had, or got for free.

BTW Phil, ... Greg says Hi, and ... the V8 makes just a so much better coffee table, being able to support glass larger than 42 inch in diameter. Nevermind about being able to hold a much bigger load of alcoholic beverages/snacks than a V 6.
Thanks for the laugh, lurker. I am getting a visual here though. How come it looks like I have to ditch the couch and get some bar stools instead ?

Does the crankshaft serve a purpose? Seems like it would be a whole lot easier to move without it.
I added it to fill the void at the bottom of the stand, never intended though to a purpose though. Just for looks. Hang on ... It seems it does serve a purpose, after closer inspection, it does keep the wine bottle in place.
Signing off Gotta hide the easter eggs now
Happy Easter

You have to sell the idea to the guys that make the trunk seats. I know somebody out there makes plastic engines for test fitting, modifying it with the pistons to make a table like yours would be cool and you might actually be able to move it.

I'm speechless... where on earth did you come up with a set of Mickey Thompson connecting rods for that project.
That is just so cool!
Don't let the shiny rods blind ya. These things way past their prime. A guy into building Hemi's had them laying in the scrap pile. Greg just happened to call at the right time. The costly part was getting them polished.
So what do you guys think, ... think sticking a couple of lifters in it would be overkill?

Wow, Matt!! The price of plastic sure went up. Looks like Tina has the right idea. Hit the junkyard and save the rest of your money to buy a Bowflex to be able to move your coffeetable around..
