The original Mecham side quarter panels were made from the same material as the fiero panels. Reproduction ones are made with fiberglass. Originals, if you can find them are pricey.

I have the molds. My fiberglass guy is finishing and reconditioning them. I'll see if I can push him to get them done. I have one set of raw Mecham panels, need to be trimmed up and cut out. They're pretty rough, but I'd make somone a heck of a deal on them.

Got mine (fiberglass copies) from a dutch fieroshop. And I modified them
Isn't there some other scoops very similar to what you modified them to to replace changing mecham's. I mean those could of been my mechams.... No really, it looks great!

Iron_mark_2003, those scoops are made by Ausfiero. There the stage 2 or 3 scoops
Nope, look similar but made by Dietmar in Germany. He laminated the scoop from the current Toyota MR2 in.

Ooops my bad, i could have sworn those were Aus's scoops. I really like the look of those scoops of aus's and they wont get the edges chipped like the Mechams or the other ones like on falcon fieros.

I just held a pair of Dietmars side scoops in my hands today. Beautiful work. They are sold ready to paint but without the mesh. He told me that he would install them in my FIero and with mesh, installed and painted the pair would set me back about 400 Euros. I'm now thinking about those and the gorgeous 355-style one-piece rear light panel he sells. Installed at 700 Euros. Mmmmmmhh....
I'm sure he will not take the hassle of shipping internationally (see Aus's experiences). But if you can have someone pick them up and pay cash and take care of the shipping yourself I think you can get them.

So Mr. Yellowstone, would you be willing to help out a fellow PFF'r ? Please? If you could talk to him and are willing I would like the scoops with the mesh. Any pics on the rear taillight assembly? I am sure we could work out a deal over a couple of PM's.

The beauty of the original Mecham Side scoop was that it was based on the original GM design AND made of flexible urethane material like the original panel. All the others seem to capture the nice look but in fiberglas which is a far more brittle material. IMO, because it can be easily chipped by road stones reproducing these scoops in flexible urethane would be best. Has anyone tried to locate the molds? I've heard that they were originally licensed from GM but does nayone know for sure. The only set of real Mecham side scoops that I've seen was on Skitimes Fiero and they are beautiful.
Yellowstone: I guess those will really match your 355 nose! And put some carbonfiber 355 tail(+lights) in the rear... Nice to see how you're updating your car. cheers!

Perhaps skitime will take his scoops off and have them reproduced in the correct materials for all of us PFF members that also want them.

The scoops on Skitime's car came from me. Before I sold them to him I made molds from them. The molds produce panels that are as close as anyone will ever get to the real thing without actually buying the real thing. Dimensionally they are exact, the only difference is that they are fiberglass and not urethane. The molds are fairly complex, they are made in several different pieces so that they can be separated to remove the finished part in one piece. I have all the parts to the molds, but the pieces that are used to make the recessed area behind the vent opening need to be finished and flanged so they bolt to the main part of the mold. I've had the molds for years and have not had time to finish them, so I've got someone else working on them for me. I will have them available soon.
FYI, the original Mecham scoop panels were made from black urethane like the fascias on the Fiero. They are a lot more rubbery than the white plastic OEM Fiero quarter panels. They are also not dimensionally exact to the OEM panels, they mount the same way but there are differences in some of the flanges and edges, most of which you can't see when they are installed.

That's the most information I have seen in awhile! Thanks for sharing... Are you gonna re-produce these in Urethane..??

Rock... I was wondering how the molds were coming on the Mecham scoops..???
