The Northern Illinois Fiero Enthusiasts (N.I.F.E.) will be throwing our annual Fierorama car show in Oak Brook Illinois on sunday, September 12th, 2004. This will be our 9th year! Fierorama is one of the biggest Fiero events of the year with some of the best prizes you'll see. Fierorama will take place at 2111 Midwest Road - one block north of 22cnd street (Cermak road) at midwest road in the office building parking lot next to the McDonalds. The McDonalds is nice to have right next door so you can get plenty of food, drinks, and bathrooms.
Fierorama is 'in honor of the daily driven Fiero' which means that our classes are broken down into mileage classes. This way, if you have a daily driver or less then perfect Fiero, you are competing against other Fieros in the same condition as your own. We also have custom and modified classes, display only class and more. We try to cover everyone so everyone has a fair chance to compete. We also have some special suprises for everyone coming to Fierorama. We will be having our normal saturday night dinner before Fierorama but this year we have something new. This year we will be having an all you can eat pizza and soda dinner at Barones resturant. For those of you from outside the Chicagoland area, V8 Archie has graciously volunteered to pay for your meal at Barones! For the rest of us the meal will be $6.00 for all you can eat pizza and soda. Lets not forget about our excellent giveaway items! When you enter your car in Fierorama you will recieve a raffle ticket (you can buy more seperately if you wish) with which you could win the following items: stainless steel brake lines, Pontiac stereo/CD player from Kru, high flow cat, poly front control arm kit, two $50.00 cash prizes, 1:18th scale Fiero diecast models, and much more!
Fierorama is free for all N.I.F.E. members to register. If you are not a NIFE member then there is a $10.00 per car registration fee for the show. NIFE membership is only $20.00 and you get; free entrance into Fierorama, our award winning Fiero magazine 'Fiero Focus', member discounts on parts from several businesses and much, much more. If you join NIFE now, or at the show, you will get into this Fierorama AND next years Fierorama for free! That's quite a bargain considering that it covers two years entrance into Fierorama, which would be worth $20.00 on it's own, AND you get all NIFE's benefits i mentioned above as well. Registration for Fierorama will go on from 10am to 1pm on the day of the show. If you wish to preregister, you can go to our website and do so at www.fierofocus.com Once there, click on 'events', scroll down to Fierorama, and then click on 'Fierorama' and it will take you to the online registration form. You can also join NIFE online and get into Fierorama for free for two years on our site
This year we have changed the host hotel. The host hotel this year will be the La Quinta Inn located at 1 S. 666 Midwest Road in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. This is right directly across the street from where the show is being held! We have a discounted room rate set up here as well. When making reservations you must ask for the 'Oak Brook car show' rate when you call. You can make your reservations by calling: 630-495-4600 or visit their website at: www.lq.com and make reservations there.
Fierorama is made possible by the kind donations of our sponsors. These sponsors donations allow us to keep Fierorama FREE to all NIFE members. They also pay for the trophies, door prizes, music and much more. The sponsors for NIFE's 2004 Fierorama are; V8 Archie. www.v8archie.com Fiero Store. www.fierostore.com Twin Lakes Fiero. www.twinlakesfiero.com Performance Powdercoat. www.powder-coat.com Village Pontiac. www.villagepmd.com Meguiars. www.meguiars.com If you need anything for your Fiero, please use one of these great vendors and show them some appreciation for supporting us. Hope to see you all there! Edit to add Archies offer to pay, for everyone who's from outside the Chicagoland areas, all you can eat pizza and soda meal at Barones resturaunt.
I will be there for sure! If you want to purchase door tabs, Just let me know and I'll have them with me.
Dave, Are you going to the Pontiac show this Sunday?? I will be there as well.
I'm not sure if i'm going to go or not. Haven't seen you in a while and i've yet to see your car so you might be the incentive i needed to show up.
John; glad to see you're coming and bringing parts. When you put up the list, i'll link it in this thread too.
James; i knew you were coming, the real question is, will you be bringing the BDB along? Last time he was here he backhanded some poor kid in the mall. lol

Last year was great, I'm planning to be back this year. You really gotta go to this show Dave. *nudge nudge* Seriously, I hope plans allow for you to be there with your Fiero.
For everyone who hasn't noticed yet, V8 Archie has graciously volunteered to buy dinner at Barones on saturday night for all the out of towners! This is an all you can eat pizza and soda dinner.
Tigger, the show i'm not sure if i'm going to or not is the one in Barrington this weekend. I'm definitely going to Fierorama!

Well it's suppose to be a very nice day and I've got the car all shined up.
Do you know who else from NIFE is going?
As of right now; i know Rich, Paul, Jim, and Chris Berry were all planning on going. I believe Vince B. was also talking about going too but i'm not sure.

I'm thinking of making the trip up. I want to stop in at www.twinlakesfiero.com to see the status of my cars that Bob has. I wish the house was closer to completion so I could have the cars here. I have never heard of so many excuses as to why the delays in constuction. Next it will be rain and hurricanes. (So far this spring and summer would have been beautiful construction weather.)

Some of us are going to 3 shows in 2 days. How, you ask? Well, we are starting off on Sat., Sept 11 at the C.O.F.E. show in Westerville (Columbus), Ohio. That show is "A SHOW WITHIN A SHOW". In other words, for one price you are intered in both a popular vote show and a judged show. Then Sat., after those shows, we are taking off for Chicago, which is a little over 300 miles away. We might only go about half way or so and rest up for the night. Then come Sunday morning, the 12th, go on in for the Fierorama. So there, 3 show in 2 days. Sounds like fun to me.

If I trailer the car in is there a spot of the truck and trailer? Is it near the hotel or the show or both? My car cannot be street driven legaly so that's why I'm asking. If these questions have been asked earlier then just say so. I'll go dig.
Thank you!

There is a motel across the street. You could ask Archie where to park, He brought a drag Fiero one year and trailered it.

I think you can park the trailor across the street at the Hotel, there's also a shopping center lot adjoining the Hotel property.
There also is a pretty good size lot behind the McD.
If you're pulling a large trailer I'd park across the street & recon the parking before commiting to pulling in the lot behind the McD. That drive is kinda narrow with McD customers pulling in & out it can get tight.
I'll be getting there early so you can always call me before you arrive & I can Recon it for you.

this will be my first time at fierorama, should i take off friday for any cool stuff on saturday, or just take off monday?
Saturday evening is when the all you can eat pizza will take place which V8 Archie has generiously offered to pay for all the out of towners. Most people arrive on saturday late morning or early afternoon so they can settle in and then go for the dinner. There's a Hooters nearby that many of the people end up having lunch at on saturday but it's nothing official.

If (A) Archie is buying dinner, (B) My Fiero is running, and (C) I am not forgetting previous plans or weddings, I'll be there. Sounds fun , and a great way to say "bye" to summer.
Even more going on at Fierorama: Need parts? Check out what John from WI is bringing to the show in this thread: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/021973.html Rodney Dickman will also be there selling parts.

Dave, would you happen to know the room rate or the promotion code for booking it online? Either would do. Just called them and I must of talked to the wrong person. Had no idea what the discounted room rate was going to be.
Thanks Tina

Wow, Oakbrook. That brings back memories of my mom dragging my sister and I around shopping. We used to live in Westchester. Lunches at Marshal Fields (do they still have a restaurant?) and sunday brunches at Stouffer's hotel.

There should be no need for any code at all. You are supposed to mention "the Oak Brook car show" and get the special rate. I just got a PM that the hotel does not know about the rate but our membership director was over there recently and everything was fine. I'm going to call over there myself and find out what the heck is going on but i don't think anything will be solved until the main manager, that i talked to in the first place to set up the rate, gets there tomarrow (friday) morning. I will update this thread when i have talked to him. If you mention anything other then "the oak brook car show" they wouldn't know what you're talking about anyway though.
I have this fixed. I talked to the manager Jim and the rooms are ok now for $69.00 per room if you ask for the special rate for the 'Oak Brook car show'. This rate is for a standard single or double bed room not for any suite. He mentioned that you might be able to get a cheaper rate then even he was offering if you try hotels.com but he wasn't sure because he, and the hotel, really have nothing to do with that. The rate he gave me is good for saturday and if you'd like to stay over sunday it will be the same. They prefer credit cards or cash, no personal checks. If there are any problems you can ask for Jim, the assistant manager.
