What did he do, a hit and run? I assume you can still get hold of him somehow, get him to pay for it. If push comes to shove you may be able to get a vandalism charge, or hit and run. I am really sorry to hear about the damage, is it worth trying to repair it at all, or a complete write off?

He hit your car on your property? You don't have insurance? You live on a lake? Do you own a Wood Chipper?
If you answered yes to all the questions you should invite him back over show him how the Chipper works, make sure it is next to the lake, and that the sheriff is not around.
Smoooooth - Tell us what you need to get everything repaired as far as parts - I'll see what I can do from this end

Yeah, then all you gotta say is "That was the darndest case of suicide I ever saw!"
But man, somehow I just knew something like this was going to happen. I mean, you're doing something that can't be simply replaced. It's not the same as when one of us buys & installs lots of aftermarket custom goodies. What you got there is something that if it gets messed up, you gotta start over. Of course I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, it's just for the benefit of others to know the magnitude of this crisis.
Sorry it happened. I've been dyin' to see it.

That sucks man!!! File a police report, that's vandalism, and you deserve restitution in full for your lost time and property.
In the meantime, what do you need? Let's get together and help Smooth out!
I wanna see your car in Viper Yellow!

Jeez, after all that work? If I can help you get it back together somehow, lemme know. If it's a part I have on hand, just cover the shipping and it's yours.

You're a good man.
I hate to hear about the damage! I remember when you joined the Forum. I've been watching your car go from idea to reality. This really sucks. I'll keep my eyes out for an Aero nose for you.

Damn, Steve! I really hate to hear that. I was really looking forward to seeing the finished product. It takes a hell of a man to hold back and not do what you wanted to do...kicking that guys butt, and shows that you have your priorities in order...your daughter. I do wish you luck and I will have Jim keep an eye open at the junkyards around here since he goes to them more often than I do. Kathy

I have an 87 coupe nose you can have. Hell, I'll deliver it if you need me too. I only live in Longview.
Let me know!
Dang, All this support is great!! This is why everybody here IS my BEST FRIEND!! Thank's for the offer.. But, at this time I really need to keep hunting for a aero nose right now... I don't think a coupe nose will look right.. If I can't find one or someone that can bill me on a 6 month polan then I might have to take you up on the offer. Man, Thank's again... Steve

Smoooooooth..... I have an 86SE Notchback Aeronose. I was recently hit in the drivers side where the fender and nose piece join up. My nose is in great shape otherwise. I am looking to replace it because of the MINOR cracks on the driver's side, but since I can't do fiberglass, I can't repair it. You can have it for the cost of shipping. And, since one of you guys out there has an aeronose you were gonna give him anyways, I would be willing to take that off of your hands... LMAO. Since he is going to be fiberglassing anyways, it won't matter if he gets a few cracks....
I am SO sorry to hear that Smooth.. I really do feel for you, and I know what it is like.
I spent 3 years restoring a 1964 Ford Falcon Future 2 door hard top. I hunted for a front clip for the car for over a year, and when I finally found one, I drove 1900 miles to get it. I got the car assembled, and my neighbor's brother totalled the car one night after he had a few beers. He hit it with his truck. I had invested my life in that car.... I really do sympathize man.
PS, The nose was a legit thing.

Well, I don't think I can fix it... It broke both fender's because they were *smoothed* in with the nose... It broke them both where that was done... I have another set of fender's that are already modified... I'm going to use those!! I talked to him again this morning and he said he could give me $20-25.00 a week... Ohh that will really help huh?? The fascia is in 4 peices now...I played with it lastnight and It can't be fixed... I don't know how fast he was going as I had already gone in the house... he was driving a S-10... anyway's thanks for all the sympathy...lol

Anyone know how much shipping would be on a fascia from Mn. to Texas???
[This message has been edited by Smoooooth GT (edited 03-07-2002).]
Shouldn't be to expensive.. I had Al Figolis from alabama (spelling??) ship me an 88 back fascia to Michigan. I had an 84 on my formula and it came out to be total 90-100 total think shipping was 15-20 bucks? but its been awhile
I feel for you man, I know how I seem to do nothing but work on my car too. (Single dad also) The countless hours are more valuable that the cost of the damaged parts to me. Hope you get things back on track real soon.
Well now at least you will know what WILL happen when some other dumb a$$ on driving would do to it!
I wonder if there is a way we can strengthen the bonding of the two parts, I can crack my Ft air dam I found out (Curb)but it is where the two parts come together. So just it's a glass job all over again.rough! Do you know what I am saying?? Like add some Laytex to the resin mix so it's more plyable/giving?
This is makeing me think to much...Dam IT!! how far away is tyler from austin? I will come get you THIS weekend and drag you and the little one down here and let's go get the nose at my local yard! check pm

Smoooth. You are more than welcome to it, but I NEED to find a front fender (Drivers side stock) and a front clip for mine first. My car is my daily driver, and minnesota law says you have to have a front bumper on your vehicle.... Without the clip, even if I have the honeycombs in there, the law will pull me over and impound my car... If ANYONE has a spare Front AERONOSE and fender laying around for an 86 or newer (Or even the newer GT Nose and all necessary parts like fender skirts and so on so forth), that they don't need, feel free to donate to mine and Smooth's cause.... He needs a front end, he can have mine which has minor damage but can be fixed real easy. So, donate one to me, he can have mine, and we are ALL happy!! lol (PS If the color matches MY car, I would kiss you)
