My secretary just called and informed me that there are two boxes from Australia at the office. She also asked me what I wanted with an Australian Bar-B-Q.
I'm picking the scoops up in the AM and will probably post some "installed" pics this weekend.
I thank you and my car thanks you as well!

Cool. Can't wait to see the pics. I better send you soem install instructions for the door pieces hey They are a little fiddly to fit but worth it I am sure. There is 3 methods you can use to put them on. Personal preference really. Will be in contact soon Doni.

WOO-HOO! Finally we'll get to see some actual shots of the kit. Please take some install pics too! I don't know a thing about body work, and I'd like to know how hard it is to do. Thanks!
Yeah all is fine. I got a bit held up and am working on it today. Why they didn't just give us 72 hour days to start with is beyond me. Been a little busy.
"Fiddly" is the word, alright! If you've got some suggestions regarding the door pieces, e-mail them to me ASAP. I've already got the other parts installed as the scoops themselves were a piace of cake. There are a couple little things I learned that you may want to know....Nothing negative, just installation hints.
Get back to me. Thanks.

I thought I was Aus's next customer. Give everybody a step by step installation guide thorough the process. It will be halpful to those without body work backgrounds. Did I mention PICS! Can't wait.....

Seriously, I've had to leave town for a couple of days and leave my baby at home. I'll get back to it Monday morning. BTW, I have made some discoveries while installing the pieces that I'll share along with the pics.

Doni, Have a safe weekend... The Fiero God's are using me as a messenger.... "Take pic's Moooonnndayyyyy...." LOL.. No problem buddy, have a safe weekend!! Steve
Okay, I got back earlier than expected. Actually, I cancelled a minor meeting to get home and play...I don't have enough free time anyway!
HERE THEY ARE!! I found the easiest way to adhere the door pieces is to remove the lower skin screws and clamp the piece on while it dries. Everything else goes on pretty trouble free but a word for GTs...If you can, get "non-GT" front fenders and door skins. Otherwise you've gotta fill the mounting holes..especially in the front fender. It's not hard to fill them but if you don't know how or trust your abilities, get the undrilled parts. The scoop itself is a "drop in" but you have to remove the mounting tabs for the aero kit from the rocker panel. I'll answer any questions for anyone installing the kit if need me to. BTW, the scoops by themselves look good with the regular "aero" door and front fender parts if you want to go that way.
This is pretty exciting for me... been waiting to see more of Aus's handiwork. Very impressive...
Keep the photos coming when you can; I'm soooooo sold now!!!

'88 GT "Ital" Custom in progress! Current Mods: Ocelot exhaust w/removed cat, HyperTech chip, K&N filter (airbox removed), custom short-shifter, H/D clutch. Mods to come: FOCOA "Kid Danger" air-dam (have, but not installed yet), Aus's Stage II side skirts, relocated factory wing, customized rear deck lid, euro-tailights, custom hood vent, lowered suspension, 18" Verona wheels... bright red paint! =) The list goes on and on of course...
I like the look of but I wonder about the amount of usuable space behind them because the inlet is so far back unlike other scoops I've seen. I would like to install an oil cooler behind the passenger side. Do you thing there is room back there?

Here I was getting together some nice diagrams and all Doni. Well I still will finish them. The door panels I didn't get to mention need trimming if they appear to stick out too far. Wife has had me away from the house most of the weekend so I haven't emailed you yet. But it sounds like you used my favoured method. Clamped. Did you use an epoxy glue?
I tried a couple epoxy-based adhesives initially but found that they didn't "flex" like the door itself. I eventually used the same stuff ("black" urethane from 3M) for windshields. It's flexible, will last as long as the car and cleans up with acetone. If one's careful, you won't have much to clean up anyway.
Also, I used a Dremel tool for trimming the parts to conform to the existing body parts. Some trimming was necessary to get the door piece in profile (as you stated) but no big deal.
Overall, I'm quite satisfied.

first of it looks awesome, these are the only scoops i really like.
AUS: Scoops with round outlets that mount behind the lower sail panels to direct your airflow to a location of your choice. how big are these outlets, diameter wise?
and would you considder selling a set of scoops without the door and front fender ground fx. how much? i dont like the idea to work like that on my car, just want bolt in/on, maybe another engine/tranny but...

Finally side scoops for the Fiero that will get the ultimate praise: "It looks stock". Aus you are to be congratulated on your brilliance in not overdoing the design. Many who have done a side scoop in the past have over-reached the design intent of the original Fiero designers. You Aus have perfectly incorporated the age old axiom of "form follows function. I will be getting a set myself as soon as I save the money. Trully inspiring work.More pic please.
Don can you post closer pix of the door trim? I need want a closer look up by the front door hinge. For some reason they kinda look funky, I think hey need some trimming but I need closer pix to be sure.
IMHO there the best looking scoops on the market!
BTW nice Ferrari! Err... Fiero.
