Where can I get the correct reverse light switch for a 88 GT with getrag 5-speed? I attaches to the transmission case and has a wiring pigtail attached to the switch.I have found the automatic switch but it is a different part number? I like a new one but will take a good used one also.

maybe scope out some fwd getrags and get what you need off of one. im sure a junk yard of some sort has one. never hurts to call a tranny shop either.

Got my last one at the dealer, $17 IIRC, but that was five years ago. Check with monsterparts in the mall, he's a GM dealer and has good prices.

scroll down a few posts in this thread, it has a series of part numbers by mfg for the switch. it is still available, and even autozone and the like should be able to get it.

Thanks again. Wish me luck. So far I have not found a parts store that seems to have one in stock. Most say "discontinued". Let me know if you know a store that actually has these in inventory. No luck at Fiero Store either...

I also had trouble with my reverse switch. But instead of taking the logical path and buying a new one, I just took the jew way and glued the switch up nice and good and it seems to be working fine. Sticks occasionally, but I assume it just needs some breaking in.

Thanks again! I'm going to look locally first. The 89 Z 24 part numbers may help at the local Chevy dealers or parts stores.
