Best replacement rear axle bearing/hub? (Page 1/1)

I just replaced one of my rear hubs with a "Genuine GM part" but I am having trouble finding another (ACDelco) for the other side. Do any of you have any thoughts on other brands? (Like Centric, Raybestos, National , Timken or SKF)

I want to say, several years ago, I bought replacement trans/engine mounts from the Pontiac dealer....They were so soft you could rotate the engine side by hand thru 30 degrees! One failed within 10 days......SO even GM has some questionable quality at times.......

National, Timken and SKF are top of the line bearings. I just prefer Timken.

Always had luck with the American made Timken and European made SKF bearings but I'm uncertain if their manufacture was recently moved to Communist China. If you look online there are dozens of horror stories about Chinese bearings failing

Bearings has been problems for ~ 20 years now even for hub units "Made in the USA."

Plus even FSM for Fiero doesn't agree on axle nut torque on different pages.

See my Cave, Axle
and http://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum2/HTML/127848.html

So some say X is better then Y but often isn't and have problems out of the box or install problems making them fail regardless how well made the hub is.

If you're racing even for AutoX/drag once a year... No hub is going to last long and why most Warranties are Voided for racing or commercial use. (Many driving for Uber et al has Dealers voiding their Car Warranties too.)
