HI all

My pc froze on me the other day, so I tried a soft reboot, ctrl alt del, wouldn't do a thing. Next I tried a hardreboot, from that point on it would not load windows but would load bios if selected. I took it in to a local company, and not best buy where I bought it. The company told me the hdd was bad so, and here is a VERY STUPID mistake, I asked about a smaller hdd, 500 gb, and they had one, but it was opened. I figured it would be ok, as the price of a new one would only be 20 more with shipping. So I tried to connect to the internet, would not see anything, then I loaded a Belkin USB adapter and it found the connection.

ONLY, the wifi password was bypassed somehow. I have one on there and have had it for years, this is the first device I have ever seen with this problem.

Whats going on?

It skips the password.

Just a guess, but it sounds like they did not load all your drivers when they installed windows on the new-to-you drive ( assuming windows )

( and in the future, the cost difference is really not worth getting a used drive.. go new... also load your OS yourself, dont trust anyone... )
