Arch, Excellent idea! Well actuall both of them were. The forum could be streamlined a bit, and if people got together to buy add space, it would help Cliff with the cost.

This is a great forum! What ever it takes to keep it going. Fiero related product banners would be great.

I will start with the banners any day now. It involves changing the software a bit, but that's almost done.

Ok,being in sales and have been for 21 years here is my golden 2 cents.
1) Cliff, this is your playground and you make the decisions and the rules.
2)Those of us who think otherwise, see ya.
3)Banners should be by Fiero suppliers only and here is why I think that so...
3a)They make a profit off of all of us,period.
3b)They want us to buy there stuff and that's ok with all but it's time for them to give a helping hand and not, I repeat not make us pay for it by rasing there profit.
3c)There should be and agrement that they cannot raise there prices, period.
3d)For those of us who wish to pay anonimously, those suppliers should give those a discount off of helping them pay dues as it may be.
3e)The payment to you Cliff is a tax rightoff for them....
3f)As such we should all get a discount for us using them as suppliers.
3g) If you don't like the way the sponsors treat you, fire them by not buying from them, peroid.
3h)All decisions made by Cliff are FINAL,not open for any discussion.
Ok, I can't think of another thing at this time,I hope this was helpfull and if I can answer any questions I will try my best. Also what about free owners manuals and stuff from them? Yes free stuff...as in totally free shipping,handling,postage...?
Okies those are the thoughts of a true salesperson. anybody got other suggestions let Cliff know. Cliff feel free to e-mail me or post anything else. Thanks for reading this reply. Have a great day!
P.S.(Still havin problems with the backfire at all times, please help!)I have limited knowlege with this problem. Anyone close to me willing to look at my car? Thanks.

Cliff why should you pay to keep this forum running out of your pocket when there is 5000 + members ,if each member contribute $2 each every 3 months to cover expense and your efforts it is only fair for you to be rewarded and unless you are a millionaire and they are not giving away a dime.

As I mentioned earlier in this thread. Those private individuals that would like to make a small contribution could/should band together and buy a banner jointly.

Everyone knows that Cliff has said many times that he is not going to take direct donations. Some members may be in the process of doing this at this time, however we don't see that happening yet. So I would advocate that we get a "PFF Supporters Group" started. I know that many people can donate a couple $ a month and others can afford $10 or $20 every once in a while.

No one has stepped forward so far to make this happen. So here is what I propose, I'm thinking about setting up a little fund where people can send their donations and as the donations accumulate to where a banner can be purchased I'll buy one. The people who donate can also make up the banners and I'll find someone in the group of supporters who can post the finances of the group up to a web site.

The more donations, the more "PFF Supporters Group" banners.

What do you think?

Archie, I'm all about you running this. You are respected and well-known, and I know that I would have no problem sending money to you for this fund.

As you note, no one has remembered - at least not publically - the pledges made earlier in this thread. I was preparing to bring that up and you have, so thanks.

Give me the address and I'll send some money.

Cheers,
Andrew

Go for it Cliff, this is a great forum and I would never want to see it be shut down because your ISP wants more money. Plus, if you get banners that are only Fiero related, you'd not only be able to pay for hosting the forum, but you would also be helping us find parts & accessories for our cars Keep this great place running!!!!!!
