I am presently in the process of making "Prototype" replacement lenses for 86' to 88' Fastback GT.And if all goes well, then on to making Notchback & Coupe lenses. If my lenses come out OK then
will try my hand at making Sail Panel too.Let me know if this would be something wanted.Should have my first set of Fastback lenses done by the end of June.

Whats the target price range? Are these molded, thermal formed, vacuum formed etc?

How close will they match the originals?

Notchie tails, too? That would be awesome.

A very nice member gave me a good set but you can bet your arse I'd grab another pair if they're a quality product. Nothing wrong with spares

Definitely a market. It is getting difficult to find/afford useable, much less nice, GT lens. You could almost name your price for them. Last 3 GTs I've had, needs lens.
Good luck!

Some of you are wondering about the quality and price.I am not going to set a price until my first set is completed next month. The lenses will be made out of
"POLYCARBONATE LEXAN" and formed over a wooden buck of the tail lights.I already have the Lexan.Still trying to find some honeycomb that I can also put between the lens and the tail light assembly like the Trans-Am,for some other kind of look.

+1 Having explored it and it sure would be great if someone were able to pull it off with something other than traditional methods.

You would be hailed a HERO and must wear a crown during all waking hours of the day if you pull this off !!!!!!!

I do have a NON cracked drivers side for sale to tide anyone over until this awesomeness is complete. Slight delam at very top, like above the O to above the P but not down to the O or P. Way above it. Just sayin if anybody needs it.

Yes.....I could possibly do that......Just cut the LEXAN in twice the length ...So instead of Heigth of 9" and a Width of 32 1/2".Would just make it Heigth of 9" and double the Width to 65".

That was a good idea...Now need to buy a bigger sheet of LEXAN to try a single piece without the gap in the middle.

What if you would need to replace a bulb or something? That would mean you would need to take the now one-piece assembly out, not a huge deal, just stating. And if it gets damaged, the whole piece would need to be replaced/repaired.

If I do a one piece tail light lens then maybe I will put one of these in the center of it.

I would definitely be interested in a one piece lense, especially if it shaves the trunk lock to further clean up the lines, and am also curious to see what a 4th gen Firebird inspired honeycomb tail light design would look like.

I'm very interested. The Fiero Store still has the mold for the passenger side one. Maybe you could see if it could be modified to recreate the drivers side?

I need to remake it in thicker LEXAN first....I am trying to make it with the curve under the lock mechanism and the sides between PON / TIAC to keep water from penetrating into the lens.

What would be a fair price in two separate pieces and one solid piece? And I definately want the groove under the lock mechanism added to the lens.

I'm down for a set. TFS was selling for 150 for each side, I'd be willing to pay that for 99% OEM quality.

This lens was made out of regular plexiglass to start with.Don't want to ruin a Lexan Sheet on the trial run.So unfortunately it snapped in 3 pieces when finishing the bends. This totally sucks.Better luck next time.
