I am having a loss of fuel pressure when i shut off my 2.8 motor. I have replaced the fuel pump and seal on the fuel block with no success. then i replaced all the injectors and fuel pressure regulator with no success. The only thing that i haven't replaced is the cold start injector since i can't seem to find one anywhere. What can i do to resolve this problem?
You're saying the fuel pressure drops after turning off the engine. So I'm assuming fuel pressure is OK while the engine is running? And just out of curiosity, how fast does the fuel pressure drop? Does it drop to zero immediately, or does it take a few minutes? Also, does the engine run rich,? And does it spit out raw gas fumes while starting?
I have not tried rock auto for the cold start injector. The fuel pump is working fine . Fuel pressure when running seems to be good . only when the motor is turned off does it slowly loose pressure. It does seem like there is some slight fuel or condensation that has come out of tail pipe, but it is so slight that you barely see it. I did install a fuel pressure gage that i got form the fiero store which is installed into the shredder valve. when i shut off the motor you can watch the pressure slowly drop . its not a fast drop but within 20 seconds there is 0 fuel pressure in the fuel rail. This is making me crazy!
Sounds to me like your fuel delivery system is working fine. That said, it wouldn't hurt to check the cold-start injector, just in case. But it's perfectly normal for the fuel pressure to slowly drop after the engine is turned off.
almost all efi systems will slowly lose pressure in the rail over time, how long does it take for the pressure to bleed down? instant? a couple minutes, and hour?
to the OP, you can try capping off the cold start injector at the fuel rail, IIRC, the threads are M12x1.75. if fuel pressure stops falling off, the CSI is probably your problem.
another thing you can do, easier then plugging the CSI, get a stethoscope with a probe, most auto parts stores carry them, and touch the probe to the CSI and listen for flow.

If the cold start injector is determined to be the problem can it be disconnected and capped off on the fuel rail and block and no even used?.
I would cap it off on the rail, remove it, plug the hole in the intake, and swap to a 7730. yeah, you could just plug it, but IIRC, the stock tune in the ECM is calibrated for it to be there.
