Been looking up replacement Ign Coils for a 1997 3800SC, the listings are "Saying" that the SC and NA are the same. I thought they were different somehow ? Whats the scoop?

I wouldn't get anything but stock replacement coils for this engine. The coils ARE different between na and sc. I have heard that the msd ones aren't very good for some reason. they don't seem to hold up very well.

The module is the same but the coil packs are definitely different.. They both may work but the sc ones are higher output.. You can tell the difference by looking at the bottom of factory coils, IIRC the sc ones are blue.

I've never been able to prove that the SC coils are better.. I can run just fine on an OEM 87/88 fiero coil if I had to... So i would say that NA coils are just fine for most of the world.

Anyone got a PART # for the "CORRECT" coil pack ? Anyone "seen" some for sale on ebay? The ones on My Engine have "Corroded" terminals. Thanks
