mods are XP cam (and supporting valvetrain mods), headers, thermostat, plugs, N* TB, LQ4 MAF, and a base tune. this is on a series 3 engine with a gen v.

is the 3.25 pulley too much? how should I go about tuning this and scanning for KR when it's all put together? am I better of running a larger pulley with these mods? thanks

No IC? You should HEAR the KR without scanning.

Those mods on a series II would be ok but with the gen V SC I would say get an inter cooler to be safe and a good in car tune. Dan

Probably fine. As mentioned it may be a good idea to look at 42# injectors but its most likely not a huge requirement with a big fuel pump.

I'm using stock SIII injectors with an EP381 (?) fuel pump. Would I be better off running a 3.4 then? IC is out of budget right now

I have a similar engine (N* tv, VS cam, 3800 SC Series III engine, and an intercooler) and am currently running a 3.4 pulley with a conservative tune. The dyno indicates about 300 ft lbs of torque and around 300 HP at the wheels with no knock. I think that I could safely run a 3.0 pulley with this setup and have one in the basement but have not tried it out so far. You should have little (if any) knock with the 3.4 and a decent tune.

I would say yes with just a base tune. Jump up to a 3.4 and start scanning and see what u come up with.

IC is not really needed.. we have made plenty of power on a 3.0/xp/gen5 before with the correct injectors and exhaust setup.

well I think I will break in the clutch and valvetrain gear with the 3.8 pulley and then go get it tuned for a smaller one
