Started as a project for a chassis design class. Slowly got more and more out of hand, as do all my projects.

I finished my Trans Am, and it is stored for the winter, so now I have some time to finish the Fiero.

This will be a fully streetable setup, that will be daily driven through the winter. I will also end up building a custom gooseneck trailer to pull behind this thing, so I can use this to pick-up loads of wood for my woodstove, or whatever. (Replace my Trans Am as my work horse)

As I picked it up from darkhorizon, this one has been sitting in his backyard for 6 years collecting snakes...

About a month later, after lots of design work building the chassis in solidworks, I ended up with this. I had no idea the amount of work this was going to take. I earned a ton and had a lot of fun. Aced my chassis design class. Picked up a SC3800 from the JY and got it cleaned up, all pretty. Spent a ton of time re-doing the wiring harness, relocating stuff, etc (My usual stuff for builds). In the meantime my 1000hp Trans Am I had just (almost) finished has been sitting undriven for a couple months with just a few issues to figure out. So I took a break from the Fiero and finished the Trans Am, and spent Fall driving the car having fun.

This is my Trans Am, just to get an idea of my style, and the build quality you should expect.

So this past week I pulled the Fiero "out of storage" and started fitting the body panels. I am so geeked with how it looks so far.

Also. A week or so ago, I got bored and decided that I needed to turbo this thing. So all that is on the way. Kit will be non-intercooled, V-band and 304SS everwhere, just like my Trans Am. I was going to go with a Borg turbo like my T/A as well, but got an eBay GT45 for 150 shipped, so I figure ill give it a try. Decided to cut down the new intake, because I didn't like how long it was. Its over 7" shorter than before.

Here is the to-do list I put together tonight.

That's wicked, I love this thread already.

So you design in Solidworks, and do also do the chassis FEA in Solidworks too? If you do, what conditions do you usually test to validate your design?
