I've been wanting to do a 3800 swap for a long time now. I just started a new job allowing me to afford the swap. Just wondering if there's a thread out there with everything needed for a series 2 swap into an 85gt. Also a thread with step by step procedure. I'll be pulling the body off to replace the upper frame rails. It might be easier to put the engine in and prep it in car before putting in the rails?!? I already have a 3800 sc out of a 97 riviera. Hit a deer recently and the little bit of damage totaled the car out, so I have everything in car available.
I also planned on tearing the carpet out and putting speakers in proper areas instead of the dash and headrests. Is there any wiring I should do while the carpet is out? Sorry if this is all out there. I did a quick search and couldn't find any full write ups. Thanks in advance
Well I'm in the same boat from what I gathered it all depends on what your transmission is, if your running a auto or manual and how you want your wire harness and computer set up. Can make or break your swap.
