My glass installers told me many times, that to be done correctly, the molding is attached to the windshield first, then the windshield is glued in. Ive tried various glues and always had them come back out, usually starting at the bends on top corners when the sun shrinks it. Many still argue the point, but my glass company showed me the lip thats supposed to go behind the glass. Good luck doing it any other way. Mine stayed in when they did it their way, didnt any other way.

I believe TFS's molding is a Christmas Tree style molding that's supposed to insert into the space between the body and edge of the glass. The wide portion overlaps the body and glass. If the glass is installed equi-distance all the way around, it should stay in on its own. A light application of butyl rubber into the seam around the edge of the windshield, then inserting the molding should keep it in place once the butyl sets up. The molding is essentially the same as stock except that it has the wider face, which really is more effective at keeping water out, should there be a bad seal on the glass to body area.
